Clicked on the site withing 5 seconds of it being posted, sold out.
Same order from PSA was $7 shipping, this is nothing but a rip-off!
The trick behind MidwayUSA, is that their shipping starts out atrocious (probably $14 to ship one box), but just trickles upward after that (thus, why it's only $19 for 5 boxes, even though it's 5 times the weight of one box).
This encourages you to buy MORE from their store, as you think you're getting a "deal" on the shipping. Natchez does the same thing, I believe.
I don't think that's a 'trick', it's simply how shipping works. Most retailer do the same, the expensive part is the labor, getting the box and packing it - it's only incrementally more expensive to ship a few more of the same item.
I put two boxes in my cart for a total of $14.38. The standard ground shipping was $18.95! I think the technique of advertising low prices and jacking up the shipping is underhanded at best.
Their shipping is ridiculous, I wonder if the raised the rates again .... It seems to be to make you buy more from them as the shipping is a rip for a couple of boxes but only a few dollars more for 15 or 20 boxes. Only way I would ever buy (one order this week) is when they get in 3 or 4 things I want ... at the same time so you can actually get a decent deal.
$15.55 to ship 5 boxes makes this over .10 per round for .22LR. No thanks
I know everyone hates to be in a "club" or have a "membership", but I've had great successes with NGOA Buyers club. I just bought 10 boxes CCI #: 0056 UPC #: 76683000569 for $67.64. (06.6 cents a round)
UPSIDE: There's never any shipping cost for ammo and no quantity limit. I just search the web for the lowest total price for whatever I'm looking for (need to know the UPC), take a screen shot of it and during an on-line chat with them, attach the screenshot of the better price. They take that price and subtract another 5% off !. It shows up as a "gift card" in your checkout cart. I saved a TON on a Ruger Mark IV and an M&P45 2.0
DOWNSIDE: I pay $10 per month for this membership, but it also works for any gun, any optic, accessories, or even suppressors. So far, I've encountered 3 stores they won't Price-Match: "Bud's Gun Shop" (considered an auction-house), "Amazon" or "EBAY" but, ...they DO Price-match Wal-Mart, and any other on-line store.
