The SHV 4-14x56 comes with many different reticles so you can find the perfect sighting system for your intended uses. This model comes with the MOAR center illuminated reticle that is designed for precision long-range shooting while still being minimal enough for fast target acquisition. It features a floating center crosshair that is two MOA tall/wide and one MOA elevation/windage spacing to provide accurate range finding and hold-offs that are easy to use in the field. The center crosshair is the only illuminated section of the reticle to increase simplicity and battery life while still improving low-light functionality.
Another feature of this scope is the SFP functionality. This means that the reticle lies on the second focal plane and remains at the same size regardless of the magnification setting. This is a benefit at long ranges and full magnification because the reticle will not cover your target. When using an SFP scope, it is important to note that the hold-over markings will only be consistent at the highest magnification setting, so it is best practice to use the low setting FOV for scanning purposes and crank it to the highest setting when taking the shot. The included power throw lever aids in quick magnification adjustment so you can be ready to take that deer or cayote in a moment’s notice.
