Description

MAXXTech typically produces brass cased ammunition, but when they want to offer American shooters cost-effective steel they turn to Mother Russia’s Amursk Cartridge Plant. This 7.62x39 ammo is a great choice for your AK-47 type firearm as well as your SKS!
This round’s 124 grain bullet sports a drag-reducing boat tail and full metal jacket that immunizes it against deformation. It is a bimetal jacket containing steel, as you might imagine, so do take care that many ranges won’t allow MAXXTech Essential Steel past their doors.
A steel cased round’s primary advantage is its comparatively lower price tag. Many backyard shooters also like steel cases because they make cleanup an absolute breeze with the aid of a magnet. This round’s case is coated with lacquer to protect it against corrosion and help it feed more reliably, but as a general rule steel cases serve no purpose at a reloading bench.
New shooters often worry about Berdan primers, but there’s no need. This new production ammo is as non-corrosive as any top shelf stuff, and unless you reload the difference between a Berdan and America’s preferred Boxer primer really doesn’t matter.
