When I was a kid, back in the 90s, I had one and shot 20,000+ rounds out of it. I never cleaned it, EVER! It had very few failures to feed, fire, or eject. When I say "a few" I mean exactly that, I could probably count it using my fingers.
I cleaned mine the other day. Not easy, but not too bad. Atleast i’ll be prepared for it’s next 1000rd cleaning up
10/22 is a great rifle, kind of a pain to clean.
