I have this rifle in 7.62. They were going for around $600 before the talk about the scary looking gun ban. That is what I paid. This price now is too high for the .223. There were plenty of 30 round mags available on line a few months ago. I picked up my share. This VEPR is neither better nor worse than my AR-15 but they are definitely different. The VEPR is quality made right out of the box. Just my opinion of course.

In 7.62 maybe, but in .223, never.

Whats the sense in paying a premium price like this for an inferior rifle? Don't get me wrong, love me some AK's but not this abomination.

Unless you like lugging around something stupid heavy, less accurate, less everything. Enjoy finding mags at your local gun shop. I turned down an Radom factory built AK-74 because it was in .223. Had it been in 5.45 like it was supposed to be, I would have snatched it up.

Different strokes, different folks I suppose. I wouldn't give $350 for this novelty. $300 tops, then Id unload it on some idiot that would double my money.

I guess it has a gas piston as all AK. So it is not inferior in all ways to an average AR-15. Might be even more reliable comparing to other budget choices.

These rifles are extremely nice. This price is also extremely high.

Regarding below, they have the standard russian side scope mount.

Well, it is shit and we all know it. Russians do not really use it on AK. At least regular military do not have it issued.

Are you serious? A receiver mount is one of the most steady and secure designs possible on a rifle. There are many, many russian and aftermarket american options for utilizing this mount. Unlike a rail top mount, a side-mount scope can be removed and put back on with virtually no loss of zero. If anything, a receiver side mount is overkill on this design. Where you lose accuracy is the inability to free-float the barrel due to the design of the front gas block.

It takes seconds to remove/install scope/magnifier on the top rail and I do not know how long to remove/install scope with this left side mount. I seen only once Russian army had it used on AK.

Speznaz seems to use adapters to install optic on a top rail. This adapter probably costs around $200. See photo bellow

Sell it for $300 to make it a deal. 900$ for a rifle that does not even has a place to set a scope.
