Ruger American Rifle Standard Bolt-Action Rifle
The Ruger American Rifle® Standard is a bolt-action rifle built with innovative designs and modern materials to provide shooters with a practical and cost-effective firearm, meant for serious hunting. Ruger uses a 3-lug bolt design on the American Rifle with a 70° bolt lift, providing plenty of clearance to keep fingers and gloves from getting between the bolt handle and the riflescope. A 2-position tang safety is easily accessible and quick to operate by both right- and left-handed shooters; the bolt can be cycled for loading and unloading the rifle with the safety engaged. A cocking indicator at the end of the bolt can be seen and felt. Ruger designed the Marksman Adjustable™ trigger for the American Rifle to be user adjustable for weight-of-pull. The Marksman trigger is light and crisp, allowing for precision shooting in the field. The Ruger American utilizes a detachable, ultra-reliable rotary magazine that fits flush with the bottom of the stock, adding to the rifle's ease of handling. The stock is constructed from rugged composite with grooves and texturizing on the pistol grip and fore-end, providing a solid, non-slip grip in any hunting environment. The stock features molded-in, Power Bedding® recoil/bedding blocks to rigidly attach the barreled action to the stock and free-float the barrel. A soft rubber recoil pad absorbs recoil considerably. The American Bolt-Action Rifle comes with a drilled and tapped receiver, and scope bases. The Ruger American Rifle is a lightweight, fast-handling, and superbly accurate rifle meant for rugged use in the outdoors. Made in USA.

Excellent rifle! I’ve had the 30-06 for three hunting seasons and will be using it again this year. Trigger is made of composite and metal and I have never had an issue.. Groups tight @ 200yds

You didn't want that plastic trigger having POS anyway.

The Ruger American does not have a plastic trigger, it is steel.

Hmm....not the ones I've messed with.
Look close, the pins and clips are metal (saying steel would be a stretch for the MIM trash), the trigger is a plastic/aluminum composite that I'm not certain what they call and the housing is plastic.

True...not a fan of their cheap rotary magazines.

I can't get the deal to work. All the way through the checkout process and after submit I get the dreaded "not enough inventory" message...psh.
This was on all the available to purchase online calibers...sigh.

It's been that way for weeks on both Cabela's and Bass Pro sites. All these guns on "sale" or "clearance" where most of them are unavailable to order online and the ones that are you just get that "insufficient inventory" message when you click place order.

I called them. For example the 7mm-08... they have 2 in stock in 1 store in Alaska and for that reason it still shows it available.

My experience with Cabela's since Bass Pro took over has not been very good.
I miss the "old" Cabela's and all the "specials" they used to have...nothing special anymore.

True, they went downhill fast once the buyout by Bass Pro went through. I was able to get in an order for this rifle in .243 last week but I'm not entirely sure I'll keep it. Just thought it would be something fun to plink with at the range.
