KY Gun Co shipped mine within 2 days which kind of surprised me given covid 19 seems to have slowed everything down. KY Gun Co often has great prices and always good service from my experience.

The price has little to do with the quality, at least in this case.

Gaston Glock wanted to retail Glocks for $200, mainly due to polymer production costs were so low. It would have screwed the other gun mfrs so it sells for ~$500 but is still a great value at $200.

Same here

My Tisas CZ clones are better balanced than some of my CZ's

I'm guessing this is a Tisas, imported by SDS. I have a Tisas .45 acp, it's well-made. Absolutely worth it.

For people asking "is it worth it", the questions for a 1911 are: are they built to spec (meaning can you swap in other manufacturer's parts), and is the material good.
My Tisas met those conditions. I suspect, but can't confirm, this one does too.

The reviews on this 9mm 1911 at AIM are pretty good overall.

WOW, someone here knows that this gun, second hand, sells for $179.00. Could you please provide the address for this sale? I like how people can tell you the value of an item when they have never owned the item. They have never used the item and most likely have never even seen the item. But they still possess intimate knowledge of said item. I've never owned this item. I don't know if is good or bad. I just meant if you are going to post a proclamation on the item's value that you post from first hand, or even second hand (I had a friend....) knowledge of said item. Other wise, your post is pure speculation. And I don't care how many guns you have, if you have not had this one, then......how do you know?

I have to guess that you're ATTEMPTING to respond to me.
Of course if you knew to use the REPLY button it might just work.....but thats assuming you understand the meaning of reply.
Go to any pawn shop that sells firearms, the shelves will be loaded with high standards, keltecs, rock islands, and of course sds's.
Yea, 200 will get you one of these from any pawn shop, and you can haggle.
Of course you already know what weapons I have handled and owned.....right ?

I'm a gunsmith, swifty, figure that one out.

I've never seen any firearm for less than $300 at my local pawn shops. (Except for maybe a couple new Hi-Points.) A serviceable, decent shape 1911 clone in 9mm will never be bought at the price points you're spouting lol.

Cmon guys. You know better. You get what you pay for. See you at the polls !!

Anyone with any actual knowledge of this weapon? I noticed the barrel looks parkerized which makes me gag a little haha. My first was the RIA GI $400 with the small painted logo that's easily ceracoated and it was a decent fun it ate alot of my cast round nose reloads

230 grain hardball? It runs as intended. Its a "series 70" 1911. Good trigger. I can't tell you about reloads though......Sorry I just realised it is 9mm. Idk if I would trust it, but I probably wouldn't trust any 9mm 1911. I am 38super curious but that is because of the caliber not the guns. If it was 45acp I would say its a good 1911 for the guy who does have or want to spend 1k on a single stack 1911.

Yes "slugchucker" it is sarcasm. I was just pointing out that instead of giving some advise as to this being a gun worth buying, "real" gun people would rather trash talk instead of giving out usable knowledge about a products value.

Value would best be represented by a items resale worth.
A Colt or Springfield would lose perhaps 15-20% over the course of 10 years depending on wear and aesthetics. They might actually go up in price depending on model particulars.
This SDS unit will lose 40-50% value at moment of purchase with zero chance of bringing more.
Value: as defined by a gun person.

05 Wasr10s were 380 bucks. You had a hard time giving them away. 2020 the same rifle is 800+. I would bet if I paid 350 bucks for an SDS 1911 I could easily get 350 back out of it 1 week after purchase especially right now.

In 10 years I bet a "gun person" would wish for a deal like this.

@350 the IMO Turkish imports are highly under valued. Beretta 92 clones at 325? 1911s and HiPowers at 350 and a lexicon of other models at 300is. The price wont stay this low forever. One day you will look up and say 500bucks for a Zig1911.....that's insane.

Yea the Turks make a persuasive argument price wise especially if you want an over/under shotgun. "I'm hungry! Well I'm Turkey aren't you glad you ain't Armenian!"

Yeah. I 'gun guy' once told me years ago those junk norinco guns will never be worth a dime.

Because if its not a Colt 1911 in 45acp you just don't buy it. Even if it looks like a 1911 and is the same size as a 1911, weights the same and has the same finish there is no reason to buy it if it isn't a Colt 1911 in 45acp. I mean, no one ever shoots 9mm in a 1911 because it is cheaper, or has less recoil or holds more rounds. No way. I mean you can't shoot people with a 9mm, way too weak. Hell it'll hardly go through those paper targets of yours. Its a replica, that means it is NOT the real thing. I think that's what replica means. What idiot would buy a 1911 in 9mm? It's not like any real manufacturersrsrs make them that way, like Kimber or Ruger or Taurus or Sig or Colt even, oh wait, they do. And they do that because nobody wants one of course.

It would difficult to find a firearm manufacturer who has pissed on the average citizen more than Colt. Trash company with average product, surviving on past greatness that never was.

Whats the point of a 9mm 1911?
That's like putting a 4 cylinder in a corvette. It defeats the entire purpose of owning a 1911.

It's more like putting an engine on a horse drawn carriage. It's for people who like useful calibers with nostalgic appearances. Redneck steampunk ;)

"SDS IMPORTS" and "U.S. ARMY" don't belong in the same sentence. I'd go this route: https://www.springfield-armory.com/1911-series-handguns/1911-mil-spec-handguns/defend-your-legacy-series-1911-mil-spec-45-acp-handgun...

"These pistols replicate the famous US Army issue pistol" ...but it's 9mm? I love 9mm, but not much of a replica!

I went the same route. Got the Springfield defender in 45 acp and have no complaints. Completely milspec except for the match barrel.

Is it worth the money though ??

Yes. It is worth every penny. If ya want one, but it. I'm impressed with mine. Fyi...i own several 1911's. Colt, Springfield, Remington etc... This is a good deal on a good gun. Period. Better craftsmanship than many American made pistols I own...just a fact.
