This is no "deal" on this knife. These are great knives but this is about the normal price for a non custom ultratech.

Look I get that there are folks out there who are "knife snobs" and or collectors however in my meaningless opinion ,there's no way in hell I would pay $300 for a pocket knife. Under normal useage and circumstances a $50-$75- even up to a $100pocket knife can and will do everything this knife can do for MUCH less money. I get the steel ability, durability, ease and retention of sharpness and so on but for a majority of people the knife rarely gets used on a daily basis and/or used in super damaging situations. So yeah... no way. Too many better things to spend $300 on. As always this is purely my opinion. You are surey entitled to yours and I will respect that. I only ask that you do the same.

I carry mine everyday. Best $300 I've ever spent. I've got some cool stuff before but this is the coolest thing I could have bought for $300. Tough as nails. Always works. I don't pry or hack anything with it but it serves a purpose. I can rely on this knife to always open and close, one handed and ita made in America. This was my first OTF knife. Go big or go home.

No sir.
$15 sharping fee if no associated warranty repair.

Respectfully,
MIke

P.S. - when you get it back sharpened, it is dangerous sharp.
Don’t ask how I know.

I see they deleted my comment about them saying they aren't in control of the steel that gets put into the knives they have made for them (farmed out to china and having trouble translating the steel specs eh?).
For 200+ for a little pocket knife they can afford whatever steel they want, it just cuts into that 3000% profit margin a tiny bit.
Be men microtech, make it from M2 and even I'll buy one.

Böhler M390 comes from the Böhler Edelstahl GmbH & Co KG factory in Kapfenberg, Austria.

The M390 steel was in their knives made in 2019. Thanks to the Trump tariffs of 25% in imports, all the newer, 2020, knives are all CTS-204P.

The one I received was also 204p steel.

just received mine in Idaho so they will ship out of state. very good knife and i think the drop point is the best blade type! note that the description says it is serrated but mine wasn't. and it also said the steal was M390 but I received 204P. not a problem to me as i find both steels are equally good but some people might want to know that.

There is some confusion on shipping. SMKW was previously unable to ship automatic knives out of their state, but the now can. Unfortunately, each of their knife listings have not been updated with the change. If your state is among the 40 where automatic knives are legal, SMKW will ship to you. I'm in Kansas and I received this and all the automatic knives I ordered from SMKW.

I fell for this click bait the other day. I don't get the shipping restriction either. Most online retailers that sell otfs will ship to you regardless of state.

This is completely legitimate and they will ship to you if you are in one of the 40 states where automatic knives are legal. SMKW just needs to update their listings to reflect the change.

They have a notice on their homepage that says they do ship to the "40 states that allow them."

The product description on the knife itself has the TN thing though.

Too bad that code doesn't work on other ultratechs. I tried. I would be embarrassed to pull a drop point OTF out of my pocket at tell people how much I paid for it.

"Due to federal law, we cannot ship automatic knives outside the state of Tennessee."

What? This is nonsense. I have had no less than 20 autos shipped to me from major retailers.

The ugly drop point blade kind of ruins a good deal too. If you want a drop point, get a case or a buck. Putting a drop point in a knife like that is ridiculous.
