Castle nut came loose this week after about 30 rounds at the range.

Also, you’ll really want a different trigger in this…

TY1998: First the trigger pin and now the castle nut. Great quality control FM !!!

TY1998: And inaccurate to boot??? Wow!!!

Yes, I simply emailed them to inquire if an 8” spread at 50 yds with varying ammos was normal for their product (seemed rather poor to be 16 MOA relatively speaking).

They got rather defensive quickly and in no uncertain terms they implied it was “user error” and said I could mail the firearm in at my cost to have it checked for potential manufacting defects.

So, add stellar QC to the growing list, hahaha

You’d be blown away by the email exchanges I’ve had with the QC dept over the accuracy issues with their upper I purchased as well…

Shot bout 20 124g remington fmjs & 10 or so 124gr jhps throught their 3.75 upper and this lower. The right side of the front trigger pin just fell out while shooting, yes, the pin is in two pieces.

Ty1998: Yikes !!!! Is the pin threaded ?

Nah, which is kinda the crazy part. Single detent ring.

Was just shooting benched, calmly, slowly, resting on the rail/magwell junction. Once I was all done and packing up I saw a “wet” and tiny pin (insert jokes here) and was like, “Well, don’t know what they hell that is but looks like it probably just fell outta one of the guns I’m shooting, better grab it.”

Sure nuff, once home I reinspect the FM and its missing that “half” of the pin.

Its been great thru bout 200-250 rounds thus far, maybe a touch more rounds, not sure. Half standing/mostly benched ammo testing and only bout 50 rounds rapid fire.

Need a lower to complete my Palmetto ar9 upper. How does this compare to Palmetto's complete lowers?

Looks like I already reviewed once. I have one of these. Quality lower with LRBHO that works and better-than-AR mag release. Additionally buffer system designed for blowback PCC for less tweaking than AR w/conversion block. Only con is safety lever seems a little flimsy.

I had and FM upper and was running it on a regular AR lower with a sylvan conversion block and an Armaspec SRS 9mm buffer system. Worked pretty good but had the occasional stove-pipe and no LRBHO so I decided to get one of these. Only one range trip so far but worked great, no stove-pipes (maybe FM's buffer system better optimized) and ran reliably. I dig the mag release on this and it easily seats Glock mags. A criticism, at least for the one I got, is the ambi- safety seems like it's made out of polymer, which feels cheap. The "upgraded" grip really isn't: just a better grip angle than a standard AR grip.

FM the manufacturer is great too. I didn't like my folding charging handle on my upper so I wrote them asking if they sold the non-folding version and they then sent me their non-folding version gratis.

Is this a pistol lower?

It's hard to say these days just by looking. If that is a "stock" tube, then no, it's a rifle. Which has a high likelihood since the sba3&4's all come with their own "proprietary" tube, even though it's just a normal 6 position. Your best bet to call primary, assuming they'll answer, and get confirmation on what it was transferred to them as, and if they have "modified" it.

Anyone know what's different on the premium other than the grip looks upgraded?

I am pretty sure it also includes FM's premium trigger.

I dont know if its a premium trigger but it is a pretty nice Mil-specish trigger. I replaced mine with the Larue MBT-2S since thats my standard trigger now for all ARs.

My trigger will not reset on my fm9 I literally got to put my finger behind the trigger force it forward just so the teigger resets itself and im able to shoot again
