The JP enhanced bolt and JP bolt carrier are every bit as good as people say. The polishing and finish on this is superior to others that also claim to be polished. I don't think there is any real concern for corrosion on a melonite bolt carrier, so I can't say that this one being stainless steel is a necessary improvement over other steels, but the real improvement is the extent to which this is polished and the increased bearing surfaces. This thing runs so slick that it truly cleans with a wipe off, and after many many rounds it shows no signs of wear
