The 1911 EMP Concealed Carry Contour features a frame and ergonomics that are specifically tailored to carrying concealed such as the unique trimmed down frame and the Carry Contour at the rear of the handle. The Springfield 1911 EMP Concealed Carry Contour boasts a 4” stainless-steel match-grade bull barrel. This high-quality barrel gives the shooter far better accuracy than most other concealed carry options and the fully supported feed ramp ensures competitive reliability. The thumb safety is ambidextrous and magazine release is located on the left side with the slide release. While many subcompact carry-focused pistols are often snappy and not enjoyable to shoot more than a few rounds at a time, Springfield’s 1911 EMP is truly a joy to shoot, and shoot often. It combines excellent balance, smooth recoil, and a fine 5lb trigger with short travel and a clean break. The Carry Contour is designed with concealed carry in mind, reducing the possibility of snagging, and significantly reducing any “bulge” that may show through covering clothing. The contour also virtually eliminates the “bite” that can often accompany 1911-style handguns, further optimizing the shooting experience.
The satin-finished stainless-steel slide offers slide serrations for effective use with wet or gloved hands. The fiber optic front sight and low profile, combat-style rear sight have been optimized for a snag-free and smooth draw from concealment. The checkered black G-10 grip panels offer a slip-free hold along with lasting durability. Springfield equipped the front and back of the grip with their Posi-Lok texture pattern, which ensures a positive grip without being abrasive, keeping the pistol comfortable to handle and fire without discomfort. The black anodized, forged aluminum alloy frame keeps the pistol lighter while complimenting the stainless-steel slide with a nice, tight fit.
