AR15 80% Anodized Lower Receiver - Serial Number / Manufacturer Engraving - Anodized

RTB is now offering anodized 80% lower receivers pre-engraved with whatever serial number and manufacturer information you want. This 80% lower will be engraved much deeper than the ATF required .003" depth. We typically engrave to a depth of .01" and you will need to fill out the following information in the text boxes above:

You can have any of the 5 lines below engraved. Pick and choose if you like, but we recommend using all of them. We recommend using all capital letters, but we will engrave exactly what you type.

1. Name of Person or Entity (This can be your personal name, trust name, etc.)

2. City & State

3. Model (This can be whatever you want)

4. Caliber ("MULTI" is a good choice but you can choose whatever caliber you want)

5. Serial Number (This should be unique and should not match any of the serial numbers that you currently own or have manufactured).

PLEASE NOTE: We are not lawyers and we do not keep up with your local or state laws. The information above is only provided as a general reference. It is the responsibility of the manufacturer to do their due diligence and make sure they are staying in compliance with local and state laws. Laws are updated and changed often; make sure you are up to date. We cannot and will not provide any legal advice as we are not lawyers.

You do not have to transfer a 80% engraved with a number on it, as it is not finished and therefore is not a "firearm". Comes direct to you (except in NJ,etc). Just got mine, they do a really nice job.
You are legally allowed to manufacture one a year for yourself. You must do the work yourself, not someone else. If you decide to sell it later, you need the serial number, manufacturer (you) and town and state and model and caliber (multi) on it, and transfer it then through a ffl.
Meanwhile, traveling around with it to the range, etc, I want a number on it so some local yocal doesn't throw me in jail for a day or two until he learns the law....

You're 100% right on all of this except the 1 a year thing. Is that a state-specific thing? I've never heard of that before. I mean, you might want to not do more than 1 a year to avoid any ATF scrutiny, but I'm not familiar with any laws on the books that says you can only manufacture 1 lower a year.

That’s because there aren’t any. I think someone is confusing ITAR requirements with laws. Don’t believe everything you read on the Internet. Use the Internet the way it was initially intended- find the relevant documents/factual information, and then learn the truth. When in doubt, consult with an attorney who actually practices law - best case, firearms law.

Why buy a 80% lower with serial number You have to transfer anyway and do all the work to machine it.Just buy a complete machine lower for the same price.
