This BCM Bolt Carrier Group features an ion bond finish in flat dark earth for reduced friction and ease of cleaning. Machined to USGI specifications, the carrier has a chrome lined interior and heat treated gas key secured with properly staked grade 8 fasteners.
The bolt assembly is machined from carpenter No. 158 steel, shot peened for increased strength, and is high pressure tested and magnetic particle inspected. Includes tool steel machined extractor, ejector, and BCM extractor spring.
NOTE: All BCM bolt carrier groups are factory test fired. The BCG may show handling marks consistent with these quality control procedures.

I get they do QC checks, but I don't believe they make from raw materials much other than handguards. None of that appeared to be a forge or workshop. It looks to be an assembler. Which, is fine. I have nothing against them, they are a fine company that I actually like a lot. But still, I would like to know how "makes" the BCG
You can get milspec BCGs for less than $70.
You are literally paying an extra $100 for a coating and a name.
