Description

The IWI Masada 9mm polymer framed striker-fired pistol was developed in order to provide an advanced solution to the modern battlefield requirements. Much more than just another striker-fired pistol, the Masada features a low profile barrel for reduced perceived recoil. Fully ambidextrous controls and enhanced ergonomics which provide a natural and instinctive pointing grip angle. Three interchangeable wrap around back-straps coupled with the deep beavertail enabling the Masada pistol to fit a wide variety of hand sizes.

Masada’s frame is made of high strength, impact resistant fiberglass reinforced polymers. Like all IWI firearms, it is built to withstand and endure all types of military use and abuse in extremely harsh environmental conditions.

Masada utilizes a modular serialized high grade steel trigger mechanism housing that can be easily removed, allowing simple and easy disassembly and maintenance. Masada’s trigger is designed to enhance the shooter’s accuracy and safety. The MASADA trigger has an average pull from 5.5 to 7 Lb. with a clean and crisp break and a positive reset. Featuring a built-in trigger safety, the pistol will not fire unless the trigger is pulled. The shooter’s security is further enhanced during cleaning and maintenance as there is no need to pull the trigger in order to field strip the weapon.

Masada comes with a polygonal rifled, cold hammer forged barrel with 1:10 RH twist rate.

  • The Masada ORP is a price point gun - there aren't many pistols you can buy for sub $450 with such a robust feature set. The grip is very well sculpted and the trigger is actually pretty good. The grip - while comfortable - is a little bit slippery and has kind of that weird Ruger feel to the polymer. The sights hit low for me - with the hole showing up where the center of the front sight dot was as opposed to the top of the front sight blade. The sight cut is a Sig Sauer sight cut so you can swap sights for Sig P320 sights if you want. The optics mounting system is a pretty shallow cut with plastic spacers so the screws thread down into the slide. It seems pretty solid and works pretty well. The plates are provided - which is nice. The plates it comes with cover Deltapoint Pro, RMR, Venom, and Romeo 1 footprints. So most optics will work with the supplied hardware. Holster support is pretty scarce but you can find holsters for it. All in all they're an excellent gun - especially considering the value they represent.

Definitely a Ruger American knockoff resemblance is uncanny even the controls I bet if you put a iwi baseplate on a Ruger American Magnum it would probably fit right in plus it makes sense since I'm not sure if Ruger has ditched it yet but I know that the Ruger American hasn't been a huge success seems to me like they probably bought patent for a good price I will say it looks better though but that being said still 100% it is a Ruger American iwi not any type of M&P copy.

I'm pretty sure this was already in dovelopment when ruger released the american......besides the ruger pistol doesnt have a removable FCG

Incorrect, the Ruger American does have a removable fire control group.

M&P 2.0 copy... Just get a M&P for the same price or less.... Buy American.

The masada has advantages over the M&P.......removable FCG (the wave of the future that Smith & Wesson will undoubtedly be last on the bus to adopt) and red dot ready right out of the box.

Last in terms of making an easily removable FCG, but not last in terms of starting with better stock triggers, and offering factory floor upgrades. 1.0 to 2.0 was a marked difference if only for the base trigger.

Lots to be said for rip offs, I'm sorry, similarities, but that aint no MP. Plus, where you getting a full size SW MP for under $400?

    I bought a Gen1 for $299 shipped.

Gen1 and 2.0 are 99% the same gun.

The gen2 should have a significantly better trigger closer to the pc models, the rest is mostly minor cosmetic stuff.

No sh*t that it isn't a M&P, but it looks like one to me. To answer your question, there are several places online who sell the M&P 2.0 fullsize 9mm for under $400. You can find them listed on this very site for $359. They can regularly be found for $339 on sale throughout the year. Like I said, buy American, and get the M&P 2.0 for less. Plus there will be better company support, and aftermarket support.

Oh, my bad, hadn't noticed the price drop as much on these as the shields. The shows around me are selling them for $400+. Honestly, now that I've gone performance center it'a all I really focus on anyway. S&W has been pretty good all around, except that damn SV9, they need to buy all those back and re melt them for parts.

There's nothing wrong with the sigma sd9 pistols. Gun snobs don't like them because they are cheap glick copies, and the trigger sucks, but if 249.99 is all that you can put together smith's offering is quality. They cycle and go bang. I own one and I have shot a couple others. I think it's a good gun. Not my favorite but it's accurate if you can get over the trigger and it feeds and extracts.

Still have an old jennings, that's a true pos, but kept it for nostalgia.

If $250 is your max with much nicer guns available for around $100 more, or less apparently, I question ones ability to get range time and ammo to make shooting a shitty gun worth while.

You want cheap home defense? Get a mossberg pump, rack a round and shitbags go running. You want edc? The general populous needs you to own a better gun.

Some people can't afford better is all im saying. I got mine in my 20s and it was a fine gun. I didn't even know what a good trigger was at the time. A trigger was a trigger. I didn't even know the differences between malfunctions a jam was a jam. I shot it a good bit, but 289 was all I could spend on a gun at the time and I never regretted. Even now outside of the trigger it's a good gun. I had the choice of a hipoint and a g19 with a bad trigger.

And all I'm saying is don't carry unless you want to put the time and money into being a good shot. Might sound elitist, but I sure as hell don't want a fudd who doesn't know if their gun is shitty or not to come to the rescue and end up shooting me instead. That or escalate the situation then have their gun jam.

Home defense wise, there was a time where all I could afford was my moss 500, but knew how to handle it because of deer season. Had 3 altercations with some asshole(s) trying to break down my door, told them that I was armed and jacked a shell. Ended that shit goddamn quick.

the trigger was bad enough that i sold mine. lol. HOwever, i also got the M&P for 299 on sale. So it was a good upgrade for $50.
