Federal Personal Defense is new production, non-corrosive ammunition featuring boxer primer and reloadable brass cases. This Federal 40 Cal defense load is designed around the jacketed hollow point projectile. The hollow point bullet has a recessed or hollowed out shape in its tip, intended to cause the bullet to expand upon impact in order to decrease penetration and disrupt more tissue. This Federal jacketed hollow point is covered in a coating of copper coated steel to increase bullet strength and to prevent barrel fouling with lead stripped from the bullet.
