Description

The Bushmaster 16in M4 Type Carbine is designed for situations requiring a lightweight, rugged firearm. The 16" Barrel makes it legal without permanently attaching the flash suppressor or brake. The 1 in 9" twist barrel is chrome lined for maximum longevity and accuracy, as well as ease of maintenance. For muzzle flash suppression, a "bird cage" style suppressor is fitted (others are available). A six-position, telescoping buttstock offers light weight and ease of carrying. The A3 Type Removable Carry Handle has a 1/2 M. O. A., dual aperture, M16A2 rear sight system. With the handle removed, the owner can mount a variety of scopes, optics, or night vision devices to the Picatinny type rail base of the "flat-top" Upper Receiver. The light weight, forged, 7075T6 aircraft quality aluminum receivers are finished in a non-reflective mil. spec. hard anodize for durability, and incorporate all M16A2 design improvements including cartridge case deflector, last round bolt hold-open and raised ridges for magazine release button protection. A mil. spec. manganese phosphate outer coating insures complete protection against corrosion or rust on barrel and other exposed steel parts of the weapon. The Bushmaster 16" M4 Type Carbine operates in semi-automatic mode and will accept all capacity AR15/M16 type magazines. It is shipped in a lockable, clamshell style, hard plastic case - complete with 30 round magazine, carrying sling and Operator's Safety and Instruction Manual.

Bud's website says this is the 90289. This is the cheapest I have ever seen this model.

Nice solid AR, I've put 1000 rounds through mine no issues.

These were $900 at Wally World just a few months ago.

Can someone explain me what's the sense of putting some absolutely *random* number nicely called "MSRP" in a title if looking at the table one could immediately say that a median price for this one is no way even near that MSRP unicorn?!
I thought it's kind of a serious DEAL website, not some TVShop for soccer moms or timeshare presentation. Let's not spoil it with stupid marketing tricks - there's enough of them out there even without this site.
Sorry if that insults someone...

Solid deal no matter how you look at it. HPGS, I would definately have have bought one from you, if I didn't just pick one up two weeks ago.

The only M&P you can get for $600 is "maybe" a sport. Distributor MAP on an optics ready is still $802. The best you can do on those is what we sell them for at $780 and active military with a $100 rebate. This bushmaster has the front sight post and rear sight. There is nothing comparable to this rifle at this price, AND we are selling them at $55 below any other possible competitor. If you can provide a link to this M&P that you speak of for $600, please do so. Otherwise I would greatly appreciate you keeping your bashing to yourself. This is a deal website, and there is nowhere else that you can get this gun at this price right now.

Since you mentioned M&P sport, $630 shipped:
http://www.sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore.com/products2.cfm/ID/104547...

Tactical with free float rails and 1:8 5R barrel, $920 shipped:
http://www.sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore.com/products2.cfm/ID/104547...

Lower than these is still Mossberg, $620 shipped
http://www.sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore.com/products2.cfm/ID/124347/brand/MOSSBERG...

which comes with a free float rail. A set of Mbus will add another 70-80 retail but that Mossy will still end up $100 south.

They might be cheaper somewhere else, but that place has them in stock (and they're pretty good, I've bought there before). Rather than asking customer to stop pointing out flaws on ypur product, or worse, asking to provide references to your competitors, you might wanna try a more positive approach; mention Bushmaster is a gov contractor, major exporter and equips many police depts (together with Remington, DPMS, and AAC).

You guys have good deals too, just that this specific one isn't so hot; not your fault, but the product in question. I personally avoid that entire Freedom Group like the plague. Hope this helps, didn't mean to hurt but help with CS.

You are absolutely 100% correct and I will do better about the approach. I guess my intention was just because my perception (and most likely an inaccurate one) of the comment was that it was meant to discredit the posted deal. I do understand that there are comparable items available, but the comment about an M&P for $600 was for a sport model that is the entry level model for smith. There is no dust cover, and there are many features lacking on that model that any standard quality AR will have. I will think more carefully about what is posted.

S&W M&P Sport, $599.99 shipped.
http://www.kygunco.com/smith-and-wesson-mp15-sport-556mm-nato-30-round-37242...

Add a dust cover for $10, BUIS for $80, around $5-10 in gas to pick up these 2 items, and the total cost comes to right around $700.00. Yes, that's $100 less than the advertised Bushmaster. IMO, after handling several models and configurations from both manufacturers, the S&W is a higher quality and better performing firearm.

Why would anyone pay $800 for a Bushmaster when they can have a S&W M&P for $600? Over the years I've handled and shot both, and the Bushmaster isn't anywhere near the rifle the S&W is.

because there is a sucker born every minute. It isn't really a bushmaster. It's just a dpms with a snake roll mark instead of a cat.
