That's a "fair" price for that rifle in today's market, but for what they really are, they're WAY over priced. I have one. I purchased it years ago when they were cheap. All it is an AK47 on steriods. That's it. Do they look cool? Yes. Do they turn heads at the range? Yep. Are they fun to shoot? Absolutely. But for $1,600, you can have a NICE 308 or 6.5 creedmoor, or just about any other caliber you're interested in, including the scope, and it would be MUCH MORE accurate and reach out a lot further than this rifle. I'm not knocking the PSL at all. I love mine and it's extremely reliable. But I wouldn't pay $1,600 for it today. No way.

Exactly how I view this rifle. Sold mine.
I am surprised they are selling the SVD with the optics. Try selling any US scope to Russians. Or even attempt shipping or transporting a scope from the US to Mother Russia and see what happens.
