You can get new CCI or S&B brass .45 ACP for $0.28 a round shipped. Is shooting steel worth saving only $.021 a round or did I miss something?
Just got my order... Feeds well through my Springfield Xds slim .45
I love my Silver Bear, I never have any problems with it.
Great ammo.. too bad price went up. Paid $151 beginning of Jan. '14
This comes out to less than $0.23/rd delivered if you count FW cashback and the $50 GIFT CARD (not coupon) as cash. The gift card part is important. It's not another worthless coupon code that can't be stacked. It's a gift card. Very good deal, should have 5 stars.
How does 230 grains and 1,000 FPS add up to only 206 ft. lbs of muzzle energy?
If I could get free shipping AND a $50 gift card, I'd be forced to buy this!
My card got charged yesterday and I received the shipping notification today for my July order.

Good deal, you had better coupon than mine. Hey do you all know to order it through rebate website like fatwallet to save even more? In this case another 4 or 5 bucks back. Yes I did.
I placed an order for this 7/19 and it's been shipped. SG is good if the product is in stock, but even if it wasn't I'd be willing to wait for it at this price. Good stuff.
Last time I ordered .45ACP (Magtech) from SG it was supposed to be back ordered for months as well.
Turns out it was on my doorstep 4 days later. I finally get to say this... In for 5!
Less than.30 cpr is how PigsNjigs rolls. I'm in there like swimwear baby!
Thumb this one down ya slapdicks! LMAO!
Good luck with this lol you will likely see the shipping eta just keep getting bumped back over and over until you eventually give up and cancel several months from now !!
I got my tracking number an hour after I placed the order.
Remember any back order is not charged until shipped. Also remember if price goes up your back order price stays the same. Back orders are like price protection from sportsman. But if price should go down on another site you can just cancel your back order.
We love people who can not wait - The "Have it now generation or I don't want it"- They just help us get our back orders sooner!
Yes, that has been my experience with Sportsman's Guide as well... others have gotten what they wanted but I would rather deal with a more reliable company.

Anyone have experience shooting this stuff? More specifically in 1911s. I did a web search and there were a number of people who did not recommend and only one or two who did like the ammo. Shame that you can't order by the 50 round box to try it. I cannot find any locally to test.
Far as steel goes, zinc plated and silver bear is about as good as it gets for cheap ammo. If you are OK with steel then you should be OK with this. Tul is the only steel I've ever had an issue with and it is more from a quality control standpoint than just being steel. Crappy ammo is crappy ammo, same as brass.
Had a dud round lodge in my barrel once. Luckily, I wasn't firing quickly, and felt the difference in recoil. Threw the rest of the ammo in the trash, where it belonged. No more steel .45 or 9mm for me...
Not to mention, but I can get Federal for 29 cents a rd, shipped. Not worth a few bucks to use this questionable crap, OR to support the Rooskies. Just my .02
