Mr. Maxim, the inventor and the ATF called the silencers. Suppressor, muffler, moderator, can.....Who cares?
O wow, the arms maker who called his invention something that overhyped its abilities in an effort to sell more products and make more money and the government agency who burns people alive and kills dogs called it a silencer? Well I guess this is an open and shut case.
Who cares? The people who make laws who then use the moniker of silencer to more easily push bans on these products. We're out here fighting a war of words for peoples opinions and votes and you are playing right into the anti-gunners hands.
