FYI: Just received one of these. Mine came with a magazine disconnect. Probably the same for all of these pistols. Looks like it was machined and installed after the frame was anodized.

FWIW: The anodized frame looks faded and there is finish wear on the barrel. Otherwise pistol itself was in very good condition and came with a brand new magazine. It just had an obscene amount of dust collected on all the internals

It’s a great comment warning the buyer of the potential condition of the firearm. What I can’t believe is that someone admits they have lived many years in the Detroit/ Flint area. Lol.

Having lived many years in the Detroit/Flint area (S.E. MI) I can tell you Flint PD is in pretty poor shape. So? That means less people and resources to maintain firearms. Expect these to be on the low end of the fair condition scale.

How is this the dumbest comment of the year? Can't except that fact that cops in a decaying corpse of a city don't care about their equipment?

These guns could be very well taken care of if those two areas are really so bad. If you were a police officer in a dangerous "decaying corpse of a city" would you not keep your last line of defense well maintained? Your life could literally depend on it. It is also possible these are very lightly used surplus guns that the city is getting rid of to recoup some money.

And the "less people and resources to maintain firearms" was also asinine. It's a PISTOL. I can maintain a pistol in mint condition with oil and old t-shirts...this is not a tank or jet. No department of people or expensive resources required.

What proof? Think about all the mint condition surplus rifles that came flowing from the USSR after that decaying corpse of a county disappeared.

Troll on dude. Did you look at the pictures posted at S.O.S.? These are in rough conditions for the fair scale. Most police aren't really "gun guys" per se and depend on department staff to maintain their firearms. Flint doesn't have squat currently. So again, these pistols have the potential to have been neglected compared to trade ins from departments with better finances and staffing levels.

For thenloge of god, who gives a fan about what quality you think the guns are. Buy it or don't! Dont speculate on the state of the town and act like you know how they care for their equipment. It could have been very well used from range practice. And as for dust someone found on the inside, could be one exception. The amount of time wasted arguing over something you probably dont want is amazing. Wow. Buy it or don't, and just move on!

LOL, you all are really digging into your little bucket of assumptions.

"Police aren't gun guys"...running a poll? Would that not apply to all police surplus guns regardless of city of issue? Shouldn't that mean these would have really low round counts? Especially considering the lack of funding for range time.

"Flint doesn't have squat currently."...they ran out of the ever so hard to find gun oil and scraps of fabric to clean their firearms?

"Department staff to maintain their firearms"...when did it take a department to maintain a pistol? Do you have a "department" at your house?

"These pistols have the potential to have been neglected"...its a SIGHT UNSEEN SURPLUS GUN. No crap. But you only bring up that 'point' here, huh...

"Troll?" I am not the one using politics to discuss police surplus items. If this was San Antonio or Daytona would you be whining about dust or salt water air? Doubt it.

Just to shed a little light on this discussion, my brother purchased one of these, and unfortunately freeinaz is correct. I’m not saying all of these are garbage, but the one my brother received, was absolutely junk. Had surface rust, holster markings, and just plain worn out. Hopefully not all of these are like that, but just be warned if you are thinking about purchasing one...hope this helps someone, and just my 2 cents

I purchased a "fair" condition from sos before and it was crap. If it is rated fair it's shix. No ifs and or but about it. If it is good it's near excellent and excellent or very good is near new. The fair example 226 I received was at the end of its service life. I promptly sold it and purchased a good model.
