Disappointed in the pricing/condition and volume of the CMP 1911's. The 8,000 that the DOD has released for sale appear to be the worse condition of their inventory. The Deep State at work, no doubt. But finally we will be able to have a chance to purchase one. Don't forget that Jock Strap Mc Stain blocked the sale of the surplus inventory for many years.
Yeah you lost me at the "deep state" nonsense.
Wow, mjtcpa, you have been a member here for a whole 3 hours and your first post is a politically motivated insult. Their is no "deep state" and this not a website for your political statements. Please have some decorum and keep your posts on subject.
Drttown; Not motivated, just facts snowflake.
Son, I am simply not going to argue with you. If "snowflake" is the first thing you respond with to insult me, then so be it. If you continue any sort of personal attack or insults towards me I will respond by reporting you to the site moderators. I was simply asking you to keep your comments in relation to the product that was posted.
Read up on the hoops you have to jump through to even possibly get one. Then the prices...lol. All 8000 should be left.
Pricing is stupid high. What the heck?
$850 and up. Almost a grand for one that's rusted, pitted, and requires work. Even the next step up has rusting and pitting at a hundred more.
To top it off you have to belong to an affiliated club (not hard, but still more hassle) and then it's a lottery system. I guess you really have to want a maybe historical, maybe matching part, maybe re-arsenaled 1911 for the cost of a new one from a reputable manufacturer. You can even get a brand new Colt 1911 for this price.
Government at work.
Even their Garands in decent shape can be had at less than the cheapest 1911 offering. They will have collector value but paying premium for old tech that you can buy new for that price is pointless.
The price is too high
