Barrel: 16", chrome moly vanadium. Chambered in 7.62x39mm, with a 1/10 twist, and a carbine-length gas system. Barrel is finished off with a .750" diameter F-marked front sight base with sling swivel, standard handguards, and an A2 flash hider.
Upper: Forged 7075-T6 A3 AR upper is hard coat anodized black for durability. Featuring M4 feedramp cuts, these upper upper receivers are made for us right here in the USA.
Bolt Carrier Group: Carpenter 158 nitride treated 7.62x39 bolt, Semi auto profile 8620 nitrided steel carrier. Nitride gas key staked per mil-spec. AR47 extended length firing pin.
Each upper is test fired to check gas function.

Finish on the barrel is different than my other psa ARs. Very shiny. Reminds me of a bb gun. Looks and feels cheap. Very lightweight. Not sure if that's a good thing or not. I'll check back in after the range.
Had mine for 2 years, its been extremely reliable with the ASC mags. Feeds FMJ, HP, and 125 and 154gr soft points well and is surprisingly accurate - it will be my son's deer rifle this year.
Being able to run steel case 7.62x39 is a must, brass 7.62x39 is as/more expensive than 308, with a few exceptions if you find the old non-reloadable (and usually corrosive) stuff.
Might I ask where would you recommend to buy ASC mags?
Compared to Bear creek’s $200ish complete upper, the PSA has a better bcg with nitride and a enhanced firing pin. Plus Bear creek doesn’t recommend steel case ammo and PSA doesn't mind.
This caliber is the best all around bang for buck out there, ( can’t legally hunt deer in many states with 5.56 ).
However this classic upper should be $230ish.
