Public service announcement about super short 223 barrels: at this barrel length you're going to be getting about 650ft/lbs of energy with 223 (little over half what you get out of a 16"). If you went with 9mm, +P will make about 550. Step up to 40 or 45 and you can be at the same 650 ft lb number with +p ammo. And there's always 300blk, which will get you about 1050. So, unless you want a deafening fire breathing monster, that would be a bear to suppress, consider going with a different caliber. Thanks.
