So in the listing this states 2.23/5.56 caliber.
But in the description only has .223. Can this handle the multi caliber or is it restricted to only the .223 rds.
Check with Remington. As a general rule, you can fire .223 Rem rounds in rifles chambered for 5.56 nato, but you should not fire 5.56 nato ammo in a rifle chambered for .223 Rem, due to their higher chamber pressure.

Whats wrong with a 1 in 12 twist? This is a hunting gun and that is a proper 223 twist rate. The 1 in 7 twist does well with the new tatical heavy rounds.

I have a number of other issues with this gun besides the rate of twist being outdated.The stock is crap, the trigger is marginal at best, and the gun is to long and heavy for hunting. Thirty-five years ago this would have been a good gun to buy, and would have performed well in good weather on small game out to 300 meters with the 40-55 grain bullets that were available. I still have a Weatherby Vanguard in 223 Rem with 1:12 twist I bought in 1989. It shot so well out of the box, I sold my 9 1/2 pound bull barrel 222 Rem mag varmint rifle, and bought a second Weatherby Vanguard in 308 that I still use for deer hunting. These two rifles made me realize that I did not have to buy heavy, or expensive rifles to get sub-1 MOA accuracy. If PSA would offer this rifle in 308 Win, or 6.5 Creedmoor with a acceptable rate of twist at this price, I would actually say it merited consideration. With the stock, and trigger, changed out, it could become a cost effective long range rifle to shoot at the range.
I like the 1:12 twist and bought a Remington specifically because of it. Light bullets shoot flatter with more velocity. Very accurate too. If I want to shoot heavier bullets I will bring a different gun.
I would not buy any .223 rifle with a 1:12 Twist. Total deal-breaker for me.
I bought one of these a few years ago, very accurate rifle once I but a decent scope on it. Best 5 shot group can be covered by a dime. It was my go to rifle for prairie dogs and coyotes, but now I prefer my Rock River for that.
