At this price, I'm tempted to get one just to check it out, since unlike most other DNV units which are just standard CMOS digital camera chips w/ their IR filters removed [DIY one from an old digital still camera, instrux all over the internet] this one actually claims to be a CCD chip, which should have actual low light capability vs. the CMOS architecture. Not expecting much, but CCD chips are what all the big observatories started using on their telescopes back in the '80s, so this might be interesting to experiment with. 5x is *FAR* too much power for a close range device like this tho'; 1x to a max of 3x is what you want, but again, tearing it apart & using it for pieces parts on other optical projects might be worth the cost of entry...

Any updates? Seems interesting for the price. Obviously won't be anywhere near legit, but for fun.
