Doesn't 'CH' stand for concealed hammer? If so, whats with the picture? Please correct me if im wrong.
I guess I just don’t understand why anyone would pay $60-100 more for a comparable S&W or Ruger.
Because S&W along with Ruger revolvers are far superior to the Taurus revolver, and can be had for the same price and even some cases I seen them down in the $269 range. I have all three and can tell you there's absolutely no comparison, Taurus is the bottom of the barrel of the 3. Another issue that you have to deal with Taurus is basically a non-existent customer service along with the fact that they screwed everybody on the warranties. Pray you never have an issue. I'd always stay away from Taurus semi-automatics, however my 85 has been more than reliable for approximately 500 rounds I've shot out of it. There have been some complaints regarding Taurus revolvers and the timing being horrific as well as the lock up, but they seem to be far superior opposed to their semi automatics. At this price there's just far better options when it comes to reliability, and this is basically the type of gun purchased for EDC. In that regard, nothing is more important than reliability
Ditto, I thought Taurus revolvers were around 180-200. Hell, I bought a Ruger LCR for $20 more than this.
I have to disagree, lots of folks hate on Taurus. I've never had to use their customer service but I love all my Taurus guns. Thousands of rounds through them, including +p ammo. Not a single malfunction. Mine have no tooling marks or areas where the parts don't line up will and need to be sanded. Good stuff at good prices, however this particular revolver is way overpriced. I bought my 85 for 220 a year or two ago.
Never had a problem with my lot or 642 . But my Taurus 85 had to go back to the factory (twice) because the cylinder wouldn’t rotate in double action.
Is this One of the older discontinued models?
The hyperlinked product is TAURUS MDL 85, NOT a CH model
