Picked one of these up to try out shortly after Mr. Labita released them.

Mounted on my oldest boy's trainer we had an 'issue' with the battery discharging quickly while the unit was turned off. Quick contact with Mr Labita and he informed me they had a replacement battery cap that solved the issue. Sure enough, no issues after the new cap came in (different design from the first one).

Ran on the rifle for a year+, held zero through a few thousand rounds w/o issue (and a bit of abuse). Now on my youngest's carbine and still going strong (gave the oldest a T-1 for his B-day).

These are basically the same design as the Vortex Sparc-AR. I'd hazard they are probably produced from the same OE.

I've got a handful of Primary Arms micro dots (MD06, MD06L, MD-ADS), a Sparc-AR and various Holosuns (500 series, no 400s). These MCRDII is heavier than all the others (except the Sparc-AR, basically the same). The dot is sharp and the auto-brightness works quite well on this unit. Having a AAA battery is handy, but I've got a crap-ton of extra 2032s, so not really an huge plus. If you're not an eccentric owner of way too many odd-ball (and not-so-oddball) micro dots, the ease of having a AAA would be a big plus. ;)

Given you can get a Sparc-AR from PSA for $129.99 w/ free shipping on a semi-regular basis (or at least a handful of times a year) the regular price of the MCRDII isn't terribly attractive. At under $100 (via the Optics Planet listing) it is somewhat more attractive.

The MCRDII does (I believe) fall under Atibal's lifetime warranty. The Sparc-AR is also covered under Vortex "run it over with a truck and we'll replace it" lifetime warranty, however.

I've had to utilized both Vortex and Atibal's warranty on items and both were extremely fast to respond and take care of the issue.

Hope all that helps someone's purchasing decision.
