Just an update the springfield promo was great, it took less than 2 weeks from order to my door.

I received 3 magazines that had the extension on them and 3 more of the plastic extension parts... (not sure why, maybe they break?)

Psa ar-15 has about 200 rounds through it so far I had issues with it feeding constantly from a 10 round magazine ( 1 x ftf per ~7 shots i'd guess ) i use to zero in my ARs from a rest (30 is too long). I took it apart wiped off some excess lube turned the buffer spring around the right way and then put it back together and it ran through 4 x 30 rounds magazines with no issues at all... ( even fast firing )

I added a $25 handle rear sight and a barska scope that sits on top of the handle sight, like the setup a lot with the a2 front. Going to shoot it some more at a longer range, it'll be the ar i keep in the truck for varmits most likely.

The extra extension pieces are for if you change your back strap. One set is for the large back strap and one set for the small back strap

Have to base price on the current value, at one time the ar in this package would at market value be worth the 799 by itself.
The valuation of the pistol @ ~420 makes this a ~380 rifle which for right now is a great deal for a prebuilt

This rifle on deal costs about $329. Not a deal for sure. Y'all go search on Youtube for reviews. This is not the upgraded Mgpul Freedom Rifle, which is now $550, but lowest was $429.

I am not sure where you see that rifle for $329 at please link? The rifle in this deal shows right now on their site for $579 ( which is too high and not on sale ).

The black one is http://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-16-freedom-rifle.html... and it's $499 right now on sale which I think is still about $50 too high fwiw.

Even if the rifle is at $400 its still just street price for the deal. Here is the link someone got from PSA.

Best price out there on the freedom rifle is $499 in the black option right now, if you want to build your own you can definitely do it cheaper ( which is always the case and what the person in video did and which was also before all the latest gun protest )....
If you are going to buy the Springfield realistically you are going to pay about $420 or so best case meaning you have $380 in the rifle which is great for today's price it's nearly impossible to find a completely built rifle for under $400 anywhere with a non-polymer lower from a known shop.

I hear what you saying. The price for most of the basic PSA ARs rose in the past few month. Check this one out, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5rX0NyPTCU.... This should be the one thats now $599 or $549. Now it would be a deal and I'd buy it myself if its with the XDs and this Magpul AR. But for what it is currently, I wouldn't buy it just yet.

Got mine in today, I really like the feel of the XDS but haven't got a chance to shoot it yet. Did the online rebate and got the confirmation right away for the magazines.
The AR portion is pretty much what I expected, no rear sight with it but I already had a rear carry sight coming, just a nice basic AR no frills but seems to function fine.

Only surprise here is the Xds does not come with the Xtension magazine as described in the Xds details part of the deal. At least mine didn’t...?

Ethor726, I was going to order this thinking it will come with the XTension Magazine. Can you confirm if you were able to resolve this?

U put in the serial number on the gun on Springfield.com and then they will ask u for a picture of the receipt and then they will send u the free magazines

How can this be a deal????

A $500 dollar xds leaves a 299 rifle and you get another 60 bucks in extra mags from SA!! How is it not?

The regular price for the XDS is $539.00 and selling for the minimum of $443.62. That means you are paying $356.37 for a rifle that normally sells for $579.99. Or you can make it simple and say they are $400 each. Got it?

Any comments about the rifle half of this deal?

PSA makes some decent budget rifles. I own a midlength one and I've had ZERO problems after about 1,500 to 2k rounds.

Good deal. They've extended offer for another day.

I've been thinking about this Springfield XDS for a bit now the best price I have been able to find one for like this is about $400 so basically for another 399 you are getting a complete AR which with just a $20 trigger spring kit and some work is a decent shooter. Don't forget that SA is running the promo for free mags again so this one only coming with a single mag is not as big of a deal.

I've had an xds in 45 for a few years, and carried it quite a bit. It's got a good, but sometimes annoying trigger, and it's a light gun for that much power, but once you get used to shooting it you can shoot it very accurately even out of that 3.3 inch barrel. Definitely a gun for carry, not for plinking. If I didn't already have the XDs I'd be all over this deal.
