How is this 5 stars? Where do you even buy 45 GAP? I love Glocks but this pistol is a pointless joke.

I have a G38 and have for over 10 years. The recoil is very manageable and is more of a push than a snap like a 40 or 357 sig. Ammo is still available, but not always readily available. Easy to reload if you have 45ACP dies. I like mine.

How is the kick on it?

Just curious, would you need more than a barrel swap to convert this to .45 ACP?

The grip could not accommodate the larger 45acp magazine and the ACP will not fit in the GAP mags.

New Glock... why so cheap?
First, it's a Gen3, so it's new old stock. You can find similar pricing on the G22 (full size .40s&W) on a Gen3. But don't be fooled by .45GAP. This is NOT .45ACP, nor is it compatible. You are stuck with .45GAP, a round that simply never caught on, and frankly, I doubt ever will. On Ammoseek, you can get 1000 rounds at 28 cents per round. .45ACP new brass will cost you a few cents less per round.

I consider the .45GAP to be a worse choice than 10mm and here's why. 10mm was the standard round in the late 80s for some law enforcement after the 9mm was determined to be ineffective for their needs. 10mm was a standard in many states, even if only for a short time. 10mm was determined to be just too powerful for law enforcement personnel to handle (it's a very snappy round). .40S&W was born to reduce the recoil and all that jazz. .40S&W became the "go to" for most law enforcement organizations -- until a couple of years ago, when 9mm fell back into favor. This is why there is a GLUT of .40S&W pistols right now. Law enforcement is trading their old .40S&W in, and instead of getting new .40S&W, they're getting new 9mm. So, there's a ton of trade-ins and even new stock that no longer has as strong of a customer base.

In contrast, the .45GAP never gained the wide acceptance that the .40S&W did. As such, there aren't nearly the number pistols chambered in .45GAP as 10mm, .40S&W, .45ACP, and so on. Without demand, the supply of ammo will eventually become depleted and it will become more of a "specialty" caliber.

So, if you want an item that might become a collectible (and probably won't), and that you will have trouble finding ammo for, then this is the gun for you.

I've never shot a .45GAP, and I'm not knocking the gun; I'm simply offering my opinion on why .45GAP may not be something you want to invest in.

All very good points. I am one who has taken advantage of the flood of .40S&W pistols on the market. I have been fortunate enough to get some really good deals on pistols that were labeled as police trade-in but looked as if they were never even fired. And given the sheer number of .40S&W pistols that have been manufactured and sold over the last 20 years, I have no concerns about the long-term availability of reasonably priced ammo.

As you say, .45GAP may be another story so purchasing a pistol chambered in that caliber is a calculated risk. I took the risk and purchased a Glock 37 several months ago. It was also a police trade-in that looked almost new, and the price was just too good to pass up.

I really liked the fact that the Glock 37 is built on the same frame as the G17 so it doesn't carry the bulk of the G21. The .45GAP offers comparable ballistics to .45ACP (reasonably comparable) with a little less recoil so it's really a pleasure to shoot. All in all, I'm glad I bought mine.

I have no idea how many .45GAP pistols are in circulation today (Para Ordinance, Springfield, and Glock all made them) so I'm hoping there are enough to keep ammunition manufacturers producing .45GAP ammo for the foreseeable future. Fingers crossed!

Florida Highway Patrol switched from Beretta. 40 cal to Glock 45GAP. a couple of years ago. So, I am thinking that particular caliber isn't going to run out anytime soon.
