Mil Spec for buffer tubes is 7075, right? Are these made in the US or somewhere overseas?
After buying this and being very unhappy with the noise, I replaced the buffer and spring with a JP Silent Captured Recoil Spring. Now I am also buying a new tube as it is undersized and a Mil-Spec stock fits loose on it.
neighbor that doesn't hunt got 1 and was bragging about how it was less then $20 but it's noisy as hell
I think that the spring isn't heavy enough to stop buffer from rattling, because when i shake his AR with a closed bolt it makes a lota noise, but for a range rifle I guess it works just fine for him
I bought one trying to save a dollar or two. Mistake. I ended up buying a better one later because this one was noisy as hell. You were right it rattled and the spring was crap. You get what you pay for.
Just a review. The tube is a nice Deep black color. Looks to be decent for the price. Customer service is great and I Recieved a out of spec tube first, and they took care of it quick and sent me a new one.
22.95 and it's 7075 aluminum

Material type? 6061, 7075? Random junk alloy? Recycled Russian bicycle reflectors?
Probably 6061 aluminum tube....
Made in..?
I'm guessing overseas as other companies go out of their way to say domestic manufacture.
This is not mil spec. Mil spec is 7075. These are 6061.
When it says mil spec the seller is referring to the dimensions of the tube, as opposed to commercial dimensions. Dealer is being deceptive. I would stay away Cheers
