Battery life isn't long enough on this one
I wonder if they got rid of the huge blob behind the glass they have on the Sparc model to hold the LED? I do prefer the dial to turn on and adjust brightness compared to the hard to operate push buttons they have on the Sparc. Considering the MSRP is $40 less then the Sparc keep and eye on the pricing. Should go below $99 once they start supplying dealers.

I've owned (and still use) multiple Vortex optics, and their value has always been with maintaining full feature sets while keeping prices down. This one, IMHO, is a step backwards when you take into consideration the core feature set that other manufacturers are able to offer with there products at a certain price point. For being an Aimpoint micro clone/competitor, I just feel they're falling short in many areas with this one.
Posted this deal, but I think they greatly dropped the ball on this one. It's meant to replace the Sparc II, and only has 7,000 hours battery life, either a lower 1/3 or low mount (no absolute co-witness mount), no auto on/off feature, and Vortex does not recommend using their magnifier with this (or other short optics like the Sparcs, actually). Also, they contradict one another as to whether TangoDown covers are cross-compatible. I had high hopes, but they're dashed. Maybe they tried to go "too" budget with this one.
Also not listed as "shockproof" on Vortex website... This must be priced $59 only....
