At Last! A Normal-Length Pistol With Built-In Sound Suppressor

The innovative SilencerCo Maxim 9 comes with a silencer built right into the pistol, meaning you no longer have to tolerate the extra weight and length of a pistol with suppressor mounted to it. No more choosing between keeping your pistol as short as possible and enduring deafening sound or adding a silencer and dealing with the extra length.

Surrounding the Maxim 9’s 4.38" barrel is a unique baffle system that allows you to remove individual baffles from the suppressor area to shorten the gun’s overall length by 1.2". Even in its short configuration, the SilencerCo Maxim 9 is safe to shoot without hearing protection when using subsonic ammunition. Also, there are no ports or vents in the barrel, so a bullet fired from the Maxim 9 travels at its normal, full velocity.

- Modern double-action, striker-fired operating system
- Uses readily-available Glock® 17 magazines
- Ambidextrous controls convenient for both left- and right-handed shooters
- Hearing safe (in "long" configuration) with ANY 9mm ammo, including JHP
- Reduces typical supersonic 115-grain ball ammo report to 137.1dB

As the first standard-length hearing-safe pistol, the SilencerCo Maxim 9 is an entirely new design, not a copy or a modification of an existing gun with the suppressor grafted on. All the operating parts that normally run parallel to the barrel had to be moved behind it to make room for the suppressor. At the same time, the Maxim 9 also delivers the reliability of a modern semi-auto like a Glock, SIG, M&P or XD.

crazy there is so much hate for something like this, SilencerCo is thinking outside of the box and its a good thing.

Because the HiPoint crowd is hard to please. Of course anything out of their price range is, dumb and useless. This goes for the operators too. They would never spend this $$ to gun down a horde when their Taurus 'does the same thing'. But to those of us who actually 'like' guns, this is cool.

Problem is the holster for this requires a bionic leg that costs over 200,000 dollars. Seriously why would anyone buy this over a Glock 17 with a threaded barrel?

Why would anybody buy a Glock over a Sig P320 cuz they're stupid and Glock suck

If there's anything uglier than a Glock, it's a Sig P320. Absolute trash.

40 watts would do nothing you need at least a 20 megawatt rifle my good sir.

I would love to have one of these, but already have a 9mm suppressor and just cannot see spending $1,500 (gun+tax stamp+class 3 dealer fee) on a built in suppressed 9mm handgun. Silencerco produces quality products and this thing is really cool.

I'd buy that for a dollar!

Hopefully they pass the silencer bill or the bill with the silencers included in it because these guns are sweet my buddy has one I'm taking it out to the range before it's fucking awesome..... it would be a great Home Defense weapon you can plug them in the face and your neighbors won't even know what was going on

all those bills are dead as of now due to vegas. I asked several FFLs that have a ton of silencers, so just have to wait 6 months to 13 months for one.

I want one. How does the paperwork/purchase happen? I hear they are poorly made. Does anyone know?

Don't listen to the SilencerCo employee. The Maxim 9 is widely regarded as garbage. The pins get so hot after just one magazine, they burn your hand. It has the worst trigger on any gun since the Nagant revolver. It's loud. There are several early reports of the gun going full auto when it gets dirty.

Even if it functioned perfectly, it's still inferior and more expensive to just buying a pistol and silencer separately.

local gun shop had a suppressor day on father day last year had one of these ran thousands of rounds through it with nary a hiccup ..... still not in my wheelhouse for what I like but it does have the "tacticool" factor. the only issues with stovepipe had more to do with limp wrist shooters that didn't grasp firmly. Otherwise fun to shoot not loud at all just not really practical for my needs.

You heard wrong. Well made, reliable, quiet, cool as all get out. Wait time for NFA approval is 6-13 months depending how you file, individual vs. Trust.
