So, this vs the Shield. From what I can tell, PPS has no safety, the shield comes with or without. This PPS comes with 3 mags, including an 8+1, giving the same capacity. The PPS is a tiny bit longer and with the same capacity mags, a tad taller.

With the Limited Edition sights, and a third mag (although a 6+1 serves me no purpose anyway), it looks like a decent competitor to the Shield.

I'm not sure how useful the phosphoric sights are. If you sleep in a dark room, when you pull the gun out, the sights are going to be dark too. I'm not sure saying "hang on Mr. bad guy, let me 'charge' my sights" will work out well.

I'll keep my Shield Performance Center, but if I were still in the market, the Walther might be worth a look.

The PPS also comes with a plastic case, for what it's worth. The S&W comes with a more environmentally-friendly cardboard box. However, I hear the PPS box is gluten-free. LOL

Shield is trash though.

Everyone's responses have been right on the money, but I will reinforce. The PPS is more ergonomic and has a cleaner, better trigger. I have owned just about all the major single stack 9mms, and this is the winner for me. A close second is the Ruger LC9s Pro, which is smaller and has a fantastic trigger (although a little light for CCW). The PPS is slightly larger than the Shield, but the difference is so insignificant that I cannot tell when holstered.

Also, the trigger on these are so much better than the shield IMO, but that's just me. You can get the standard version for $299 from Gunbuyer, but the mags are high. I sold my 8 rounder because I do not use it and bought 3 more 7's. The 7's are a perfect fit for my hand. Never had an issue with the phosphorous sights. I actually have 3 of these...two standard ones. I bought them when they had the $100 rebate from Gunbuyer. The other 2 are still new and unfired in the safe. I carry this or my G43 all the time.

I bought both for christmas but haven't had a chance to shoot either yet unfortunately! I paid about the same for both. In the hand, the Walther definitely feels better built, nicer trigger (no slop), and feels like a nicer overall package/better buy. But it's also a tad larger and heavier if concealability is a concern. Also 3 mags vs 2. My review may change once I actually use them as intended but as of right now I would give the nod to the PPS. I'm going to try these vs my friend's LC9s hopefully soon so I'll have a better idea of which I prefer soon enough.

If you carry concealed then CYA SUpply has an awesome IWB Boltaron (Kydex) holster that is awesome. I have several of their holsters. They are veteran owned and you can buy from their website or from Amazon.

SW has pumped a ton of money into these, and at this point they really feel and shoot like a shield. My dad has a shield and I have this PPS m2 so I shoot both quite often. For me personally, my Walther fits in my hand better, and I like the trigger in it better than the shield. It might be an unfair comparison between this and the performance shield as well, but I cannot say definitely since I have not shot a Performance model. Overall both of two of the most solid choices in the current selection of ccw weapons. I always advise people to go to a range and shoot as many different brands as they can, then go with the one that fits their hand the best and they shoot the best with.

These are excellent guns and Gunbuyer is excellent to deal with. I have made multiple purchases from them. I give them an A+

I have one and it has been great! It has been my edc for over a year now, put a few thousand rounds through it, and have never had a single issue. She gets cleaned after each session, and gets a deep clean every 500 rounds. Ive known several people and did a ton of research on these before buying, and the guy below me is the first I have ever heard having the night sights fall off, I dont think it is a widespread issue.

The dots are prone to falling out of the sights. Otherwise it is a decent gun. I shot about 1000 rounds through mine. Carried it for about a month and out of nowhere I go to chamber a round and hear something break off the gun and hit the wall. Start looking around and noticed a glowing dot in a shaded area on my desk..... Sure thing I was missing a rear sight dot.
