Keeping weight, strength, and cost in mind, we decided to use a proven monocore design that is user serviceable for easy cleaning, and perfectly symmetrical for minimal point of impact shift and long range accuracy. The 7075 aluminum monocore reduces the weight to just 4.5 ounces! The Athena attaches to the host firearm with a 1/2×28 direct thread to keep cost down, yet remain durable and reliable.
