HECKLER & KOCH USA USC Carbine Rifle The USC is a civilian utility carbine that uses the classic hard hitting .45 ACP cartridge. Extensive use of the same polymers used on HKs line of military and police arms ensures light weight and durability. And the highest grade of weapons steel is used in the cold hammer forged target barrel, and bolt mechanism. The skeletonized buttstock is topped with a comfortable rubber cheek rest and recoil pad. Hard points located on the top and front of the receiver make attachment of optional Picatinny rails easy. What the hell is up with that stock? CA/MA version? I want to SBR a civvie USP, but I would have to change that stock first. Do they sell replacements?
The reason for that stock is the import AWB for long guns, or better known as the "sporting purpose" clause.
The way manufacturers get around it is by sticking on thumbhole stocks and only shipping the guns with 10 round mags. This is why Veprs also come with 10 round mags and thumbhole stocks.
I wish they would just open a manufacturing plant in the us along with vepr
That's how the HK USC stock normally is. People send them out for UMP conversion
You can. Its just gonna cost you. If you check out the firearm blog, they just did a piece on the conversion.

The amount of money needed to convert it makes it too much for me.
But...that beautiful case for it!
The top comment has it right with making a 9mm SBR AR, but you still couldn't have that sweet folding stock on an AR, could you?
You might look at the Mech-Tech .45 carbine top end. Convert a Glock 21 or a 1911 frame into an accurate and very nice carbine. I've built them both. Cost effective. The collapsing wire stock option is handy and sturdy.
