If the sleeves and collar aren't at least level IIIA soft armor like Army ACU Daps, what are they there for? You're in the DESERT for christ sake. Make them functional or lose them.
The sleeves and collar are removable and they do accept the soft Kevlar inserts so they are functional. Like all carriers, you have to understand how they work and use them properly.
Product specialist on their website says it will hold standard 10x12 plates.
Well if you're ok with 9x12 plates you're good to go. 9x12 plates or 8.75 x 11.75 are the plate size that goes into a Small IOTV or Small Interceptor.
