"Frame Construction - Zamak 5 with Polymer Accents"
Zamak is another term for pot metal...... No thanks.

I understand this pistol was designed and made in a different time. A time when guns were made to be simple, reliable, easy and fast to manufacture. However Its my personal opinion that these are some seriously "butt ugly" firearms and from watching review videos and reading articles, these are llla seriously temperamental and unreliable hunk of junk...if anyone cares to share their actual, having owned one. Opinions and thoughts feel free. This is my opinion and your certainly entitled to your own opinion and I will respect that, I just ask you do the same.

Be careful with Gunbroker - make sure you ask questions and feel safe sending hundreds of dollars to someone. I've had a few bad apples in my 700 or so transactions so feel that's important to note for anyone new to that site. Yes they have a $400 max insurance but the hoops you have to jump through and claims denied are unreal. Always use a credit card despite just about everyone adding fees but at least gives you options when things don't arrive or aren't as advertised.

The PPS43 is nice for sure - but this is a different beast entirely. I'd say the MP40 is more iconic and 9mm is true to the original with a plethora of modern cartridge options and cheap "available everywhere" range ammo.

I've bought probably 10-12 guns from GB and probably $1000-$1500 in ammo and accessories and all but one transaction went fine. However this one bad transaction was a seriously f-d up deal. Everything started fine, there was some issue with slow shipping and I had to wait about 10 days for it to be shipped. I chalked it up to the seller being in Alaska. So about 2 weeks of waiting I went to my local gun shop to do the background check and government "mommy may I"...after doing the paperwork and while waiting for approval my gun store recieved a phone call from the governing body (Oregon State Police) and we're instructed to hold the gun and if possible hold me. At this point I was sorta getting worried and was playing thru all the scenarios in my head...was I in trouble? Did I have some unknown legal issue? What's was the problem?
Well the problem was that the gun I had purchased was STOLEN! The pistol was part of a large group of the same firearms that had been stolen 5 years earlier there in Alaska from a warehouse. Apparently it and 49 other pistols along with quite a bit of ammo, etc had been on an "attempt to recover" list.
So after some back and forth with the police and the gun store it was deemed that I was not of any guilt or use to the investigation and I was able to leave. However my gun was not leaving and was picked up by the state police and sent back to Alaska FBI branch.
Needless to say that I did not get an immediate or even reasonable time frame to get my $700 refund. It took about 3 months to get my refund from the seller. They also were in hot water because they did not keep proper record of the incoming receipt of the gun, although by "law" ffls are not required to do a series number check on guns coming in, the FBI wasn't happy and was looking for any sort of slips by the FFL to make them pay.....so yeah be careful. The seller I was buying from was a high capacity seller with decent reviews so I trusted them and I guess "by law" they did nothing wrong. My biggest complaint was the time it took to get my money back
