Good deal, get it while you can. Just don't buy it from Classic Firearms and you should be good.

Think this would be overkill for my 17 hmr tikka t1x? Want a very high quality scope but never imagined spending about 500 just for long range plinking and squirrels

Mine will be here next Tuesday. In the past I've had to send two Vortex scopes back, one was repaired and one was replaced with a new one. I'm telling you right now, the folks at Vortex are nothing but great people and that alone will keep me buying Vortex products. Also, I had a question about this scope so I sent EuroOptic an email with my question. I had a reply with the answer within 20 minutes or so. It seems like EuroOptic has great customer service as well.

Is this good for my mp15-22 rifle?

Probably not. This is better for a target 22 when you are going to shoot 200 to 500 yards. Look for a something closer to a 2-12, 3-9, or 4-16. I have a Nikon 22 rimfire 3-9 on a 10/22 and Ruger American Rimfire that works great. I run this same scope in 4-16 on my Volquartsen SS target rifle.

I've been kicking this one around long enough hoping that the deal would go away and I could focus on a smaller bezel for a longer range AR platform. Super hard not to spend the money on this though. Just don't really know how awkward a 50mm would look out there. It really has everything I'm looking for. So tempting.

I have a 52mm on my 300 winmag and a 50mm on my 22/250 and 6.5 creedmore. The 50mm is not noticeable

Great price on a great optic. Picked up two over the weekend.

$500 lowest price I’ve seen it

Keep in mind this is the Gen1. The original price of $949 is more in line with what the Gen2 goes for. Either way it's a good deal on one hell of an optic.

In case this sways anyone: I called Vortex and asked how their lifetime warranty works on a product being discontinued. They said if they can't fix it, they replace it with the closest thing in their current line up. In other words, if this one breaks, lifetime warranty is still in effect and you may end up with a Gen 2.

I have owned both. Cant beat them for the money. I sold my Gen 1 years ago and now own a Gen 2. It's nicer in that it doesnt have the giant battery turret on the side, but otherwise not a lot has changed. Considering buying a discontinued gen 1 for my 10/22.
