I ordered on Saturday, pistol shipped on Monday and arrived at my FFL today (Wednesday). Received $100 gift card via email yesterday approx 24 hours after shipping.
I
Confirmed with Brownells that the $100 Brownells Gift Card is sent via email on this deal. I received my gift card on this email today, about 18 hours after this pistol was picked up by FEDEX in Iowa from Brownells.
In for 1. Wanted a glock 43 but this is too good of a deal to pass up. Maybe I can find someone with a G43 to trade me if I decide to go that route later on
This S&W PC 9mm has a stainless steel slide that is treated with melonite!!! Melonite® processing produces a hardened, corrosion-resistant surface that will out-perform metal plating (hard chrome, zinc, or nickel), gas nitriding, Parkerizing, and black oxide or bluing. While these traditional surface finishing processes were used in many industries for many years, they are each being methodically replaced by a superior finishing process – Melonite®.
The GLOCK 43 will rust, but The S&W PC 9MM SHIELD will not rust (TY Melonite)!!! They are both great EDC pistols & to each their own... This PC SHIELD has Hi-Viz (3rd Party Company) Fiber Optic Sights which are pretty AMAZING, especially in daylight! I have shot & carried both, both are good choices, but when comparing Price & Value Added features, this current deal on The S&W PC M&P SHIELD is the clear winner & it isn't even a close race! It's a BLOWOUT!
Does the $100 Brownells Gift Card have an expiration date?
Screw it, I ordered one. $370 shipped - $100 Store credit + $20 transfer fee = $290 all in. That’s a good friggin deal! Can’t wait for this to arrive!
My only concern for EDC is the porting in low light situations OR if I’m being car jacked and having to shoot from the hip or sitting position.
I haven't really noticed a difference between this and the G19 shooting at night, and they are actually really close in recoil feel (G19 is a bit better of course). The ports do get dirty shooting a few hundred rounds. Just keep it clean, and you got a great shooter that looks good too...
no diff then using a revolver.. gas escapes out the sides of the cylinder..
Smokin hot deal. This is my EDC too, and it shoots great - didnt think porting would make such a difference - and the trigger is much better than v1. Added the crimson trace from optics planet for a fine weapon. I cant believe how cheap this is! I almost HAVE to buy another...
This is my EDC pistol. It is fantasic as far as fit and finish for me. Dont hesitate on a fine pistol at about $130 less than I paid a few years back.
So I pay $370 now & then a few days after the item ships Brownells sends me an email for a $100 gift card... Essentially $370 - $100 = $270 Final Actual Adjusted Cost?
The 100$ gift card is to Brownells...not cash back. Either way, it looks like a fair deal
How’s this trigger compare to 1.0? How about 2.0?
the trigger is much improved over the standard 1.0
smoother, less gritty feeling and better reset to me.. ((i have the pc 40cal, just ordered the 9mm here))
sorry, i do not have a 2.0 to compare it too.

Dear Brownells, your customer service sucks. This department, that department, no one knows where the fuck my gun is. What the serious fuck?
I bought mine about 6 months ago for 389. I love it. It's my EDC weapon. At this price and getting a 100 gift card... If you're on the fence. Buy it!
Great deal, fantastic pistol. Great improvement over standard.
talked to CS and verified that the gift card would be emailed a few days after the gun ships. This is a great deal on this performance center ed..
Was your $100 Brownells gift card emailed to you as of yet sir?
got mine about 12hours after i got the email saying the gun shipped.
it took about 3days for mine to ship. so..
i would say they will have a big back log on monday though :)
• Extremely thin and lightweight - can be comfortably carried all day
• Polymer frame with embedded stainless steel rigid chassis system
• Striker-fired for short consistent trigger pull, every time
• Performance Center sear enhanced trigger for a crisp trigger pull
• M&P’s patented take-down lever and sear deactivation systems allow for disassembly without pulling the trigger
• HI-VIZ® Fiber Optic Sights
• Ported barrel and slide for reduced muzzle flip
• Single sided thumb safety
• Includes 2 magazines, one with extended capacity for full grip
The porting on the slide has nothing to do with the barrel or flash. It just lightens the slide and is for aesthetics. The barrel is not ported and has nothing to do with the slide. Once a round is fired all of the energy will be out before the slide even moves.
Maybe you can’t read so good but it clearly says it has a ported barrel
Affirmative. Barrel is ported. Even KWtactifoool saying twice that it isn't ported doesn't change that.
I have had mine for around 5 months now and have never had an issue with the safety selector. The gun has functioned flawlessly through over 1000 rounds of various manufacturers both hollow point and fmj. On top of being a reliable shooter, the PC version has a significantly improved trigger compared to other versions of the gun. If you're going to let an insignificant part of the firearm such as the safety deter you from owning it then so be it, more for the rest of us.
Such a great gun for the price. I paid 25.00 more but the thing shoots awesome!
I have the 40 each amo box will say if it can be used on a ported gun for example don't use vinyl tip amo
What ammo is not recommended? I know the Blazer Brass is a no-go. I'd like to get a PC Shield but what to know the ammo restrictions.
Have any of you tried either buying it or not buying it without making the stupid comments about the gun having a safety and sounding like a total retard? Buy it, dont buy it, but damn, shut up about a safety already. You really sound special needs and its kinda sad.
Lol. I love it. Im still impressed nobody is pissing and moaning about the ports like you might start on fire if you don't hold it right. Or how blind you will be if you shoot it at night because the fireball is 6 inches closer to you.
Thumb safety is the only thing holding me back on this.
Thumb safety version only? I'd be hard-pressed to pass this up if it didn't have a thumb safety.
The PC version only comes with a Thumb Safety! Thats an outstanding price for the shield PC even before the rebate.
no way dude. wouldnt take 2 xds for 1 shield.
lol
If you buy this over the xds you need help. THE SHIELD'S TRIGGER SUCKS!
The performance center trigger is better than standard. Also, the ports look really nice and the do help work muzzle flip. Fiber optic sights are super quick to pick up and put in target. I just bought this deal at Brownells and couldn't be happier. My LC9s trigger is better by far, but I'm actually more accurate work the PC Shield.
Just picked up the Brownells deal. $369 shipped + $100 gift card which bought a 5pack of 8 Rd mags. Tomorrow I'll take the xds and the shield to the range and have a shootout.
