Returned again and S&W related again. This time it came back with a front sight does not glow. When to range again and missed the front sight again. Totally junk.
I have this with the fiber optic sights. It's my favorite gun at the moment. This is a great price. Trigger is nice, grip is perfect for me.
Porting I don't know if it helps or not. It's loud.
Night sights, civilians shouldn't be firing on a target in light so low that tritium sights are visible (mho). Know your target - can't do that in almost black out conditions.
Night vision blinding: ported probably makes it worse, but a 3"barrel is going to have a big flash regardless.
M&P thumb safeties are easily deleted (at no cost...call them) but can’t be added to a non-safety model. There is no downside.
Porting...no opinion. Wouldn’t pay more for it or to change it. User reports on this model don’t match your worries regarding blindness. Perhaps that means the ports need to be opened up for those who value them.
I take off the safety when I have it holstered for carry. Sometimes I use the safety, if I'm using an alternate carry method. It's a pretty positive click and the lever itself is pretty low profile. (unlike the safety on the m&p 2.0 full size and compact - is it me or are those ridiculously large?)
@jlavall, not the same gun. 11630 has night sights, you linked to 10108 with the neon sights. totally different set of sights...
Not a deal.. I found it in stock at another online store for $389.99 with free shipping.

Why have night sights on a ported pistol? For 1 good shot in the dark before you're completely blinded by the flash? And why port a 9mm? Oh wait, it must be to sell off all the frames with the safety that no one wants...
Don’t buy it with the night sights. I brought a brand new one from Cabela’s it came with front sight does not glow. Returned to S&W and they replaced the front sight. Dropped off again after went to range for150 rounds.
