Description

The modern SIG SAUER® pistol story began with the P220®. In 1976 the .45 ACP P220 was introduced and quickly became recognized as one of "the most accurate 45s right out of the box." Since that time the P220 has earned an enviable record in hot spots around the world. The P220 features a stainless steel slide machined from barstock and coated with a durable, wear-resistant Nitron® finish, light-weight alloy frame with integral accessory rail, and the SIG SAUER® four-point safety system of decocking lever, patented automatic firing pin safety block, safety intercept notch, and trigger bar disconnector.

E2 grips are only good for those with small to small-medium hands, and require a more comfortable reach on the trigger. They DO, however, suck donkey balls otherwise. They are extremely cheap and overly-flexible, prone to movement, and you will have a ton of dead skin on them that accumulates. The only way to get rid of the skin is to dye the grips black again, using RIT or some other permanent dye (but of course, the skin is still there).

The first thing I do with all E2 grips is replace them with G-10 Piranhas, either directly from Sig or Hogue. If you have smaller hands and need to address the trigger more comfortably, get the G-10s and buy a Short Reach Trigger (not to be confused with an SRT...Short RESET Trigger). The Short Reach Trigger usually gives smaller hands enough room to squeeze the trigger as normal. (EDIT: From the picture, it looks as though the weapon already comes with the Short Reach Trigger.)

These E2 grips are just a cost-cutting measure, seeing as they consist of @ 50 cents worth of thin plastic. It sucks to get these crappy grips on such an expensive weapon, but $$ KNOWS at least 60-75 percent of people will change the crappy grips to the G-10s.

Here's the difference, but in a P229. It's similar in the P220.

E2 is the grip, and it's personally my favorite grip for a pistol.

See my critique above...I neglected to post it as a reply to your question.

Don't get me wrong, though...awesome gun, just embarrassingly crappy grips.
