MSRP on these is $699. Anything over that is price-gouging.

Hmmm. Why does my Colt m45a1 cost twice as much as a regular 1911? Shoulda/coulda bought two regulars for that some friends say. Didn't stop me from getting one. People will buy what they want for whatever price. The market will dictate. I find kimber's price on their new revolver to be much more silly than this overpriced colt. They will all sell. With these prices, I might try out that abortion of a gun the Rhino. Cheers:)

Would be a nice pair to my King Cobra, but I'll wait for the price to come down. Significantly.

No F'n wy. I had one back when they were popular in the 70's, "early". If it were made in 357, well then maybe, but 8 bills for a 38 is just dumb, for 30 dollars more you can get a Kimber, or a Rhino, even a 340 . Nostalgia only goes so far. I ca pick up a real nice 357 or 44 mag for that price. It's not a collecters gun, it's a new 38 snubby, no big deal, should be half the price, the Taurus 357 is $278.00, and guess what, I would prefer the 357 any day.

You can buy an Airweight 38 right now for $320 shipped. I doubt this gun is more than twice the gun

Not even close.

Yes. The price is high looking for people to jump at the newness. They will probably come down some soon like all other guns lately. But don't expect it to go to Taurus prices. Colt builds very nice stuff, some of the best for a big production company. Remember the Python?

The reason that Colt can't make any of the old classics properly, is that the sold off the dies for most of their guns 40-50 yrs ago. That's why the "Classic Series" never took off. The "New" equiptment used to make them is just not the same, and the hand fitting is gone. The had sold much of their original equiptment to Taurus one of the many times they almost went under. That's why the old guns are so expensive, they can't reproduce them properly. But this is just Colt trying to make a buck off the name they once had. Eveb their 45 auto's have come way down the past few years.
