Out of stock as of 7/23/20 10:30am. Bass Pro and Cabelas are merging their websites, so do not trust what you see on Cabela's. Bass Pro is more accurate, but still shows things in stock when they are not (per employees at the store).

I haven't used this ammo in years. It was extremely dirty and made cleaning a nightmare.

Shoots great out of all semi and bolt action 22s that I own.

Ruger American rimfire. NO ISSUES accurate
Ruger sr22 pistol. NO ISSUES.
ISSC MK22 (Scar clone). NO ISSUES
PSA dedicated 22lr upper on AR lower. NO ISSUES

yes there are cleaner ammos out there but after 10 bricks of this. . .I've had maybe 2 FTF and 2 FTE and both occured in the ISSC MK22 due to gunking up internals after 500 rounds.....

Good ammo imho...best....no...good and reliable.....yes

Every new generation has its chance to experience the crap that is thunderbolt. It's a right of passage. At 6 cpr it's fine for plinking. I have a few boxes around, as do we all.

20 years ago I paid $7/brk for Thundert*rds, and considered myself robbed after I shot it & discovered just how bad they were. Even at today's prices for 22lr that are 2x or 3x what they were then, that still only makes these ~$20/brk as absolute garbage 22lr that you only buy once until you learn better. At $35/brk? Completely laughable!

It will also result in continued higher prices for .22.

Pre 2012-13 panic Cabela's had 2100 cnt Federal ammo cans for $79.99 reular price. If we stop paying these inflated prices, they will eventually return then to what they should be, just like they have with AR's/AK's...well sorta on the AK's.

Do not buy this! It will result in terrible lead fowling and damage to your firearm. look it up on google and save yourself some grief.

This is a bulk box with loosely packed rounds. This is NOT a 500 round brick divided into boxes of 50 like shown in the picture, Cebla's good about miss informing it's consumers "generic images". Given the performance of the rounds I received I would guess these loosely packaged bulk boxes are 2nds.

$34.99... I can get that ammo cheaper from my local gun shop -- owned locally, where the profit stays in my community. I'm loyal to a degree, but I can be bought off. This price isn't even considered an attempt to bribe.

$35 for a $17 box a crappy ammo. Sounds like a deal to me, and I get to drive 60 miles for free in store pick up?... How do they even stay in business offering deals so low. It's amazing!

Yes $5.00 Shipping code has expired . Maybe that is a good thing . This junk ammo will ruin your gun https://youtu.be/XTTEhJFDm1M...

Shot plenty, it's dirty, but kept guns clean and no problem in two rifles and ruger 22 pistol. I never use a brass brush, only solvent soaked cloth down the barrel and zero lead fouling. Not sure what their problem is. $34.99 is overpriced though.

ditto, in fact mom's sig 1911-22 does under 1" w em at 25 yrds but you will never guess who gets to clean guns after a day of shooting

This ammo will wreck your gun! Check out some youtube videos of 10/22 barrels after only a few rounds of firring thunderbolt. This ammo will tear rifling right out of the barrel... so enjoy guys!

$2.24 per 50rnds 3 days ago @ GM (no tax/free shipping to dee doe). I dont shoot thunderbolts but i p/u 5boxes minimags @ $7.19 per at GM 3 days ago ($35.90 delivered). Cabela's arrogant indifference to customer base more obvious everyday.

Are people just posting any .22 that is in stock now? This is way overpriced

2 votes
0 votes

Exactly. Maybe there needs to be an "in stock" tab or something, but this is pretty contrary to the concept of the website.

1 vote
0 votes

Thats not a bad idea.. Have a seperate tab for "In-Stock" .22lr. It may not be a sale or a good price, but at least people could check out what is in stock currently

Stop posting this crap. This is not a deal.

2 votes

Still not a deal! Wasn't a deal last week and still isn't this week.

3 votes

Forget who's buying it. Who the hell keeps posting this crap as a deal? I'm not knocking the ammo, it's not that bad for plinking... at 4 1/2 - 5 cents per round or less. But at this price - NO WAY. Whoever posts this is doing their fellow "slickgunners" a disservice and giving Cabela's too much free advertising to sell their over-priced ammo to people who just get excited to be able to get it.

I was at cabelas last week picking up some back orders. They had these on the shelf for $28.99. I don't get why they charge more online but just letting you know.

It keeps gong up. First it was $26.99. Steep, but I not too steep. I bought a few boxes. Then it went up to $31. Nope, no longer buying. Now it's $34? HECK NO! :(

My last box of this ammo just arrived today at my local Cabelas and is ready for pickup. I paid $25.99 and it looks like I won't be buying any more. Not at this price, anyway.

So, I picked up my box of ammo last night at my local Cabelas. I selected the Remington Thunderbolts when I checked out, as there was a choice of 2 different Remington bricks. I've been buying Thunderbolts for decades, but this is the first box of them that doesn't have the internal 50-round boxes inside. It's just a bulk pack. Really weird. I opened it to confirm that they are the rounds with the slick black leads, so they really are Thunderbolts.

I like Thunderbolts, because I've had some guns that don't shoot very well with other rounds, but that slick bullet seems to load better in autos when other rounds don't. I know some people don't like them, tho. Might be my last box for awhile.
