Does it run subsonics? With suppressor? Other reviewer had issues with both, and with multiple samples
I purchased this model in 300 blk with a muzzle break. Runs with no issues and I would definitely purchase again.
Recent Labor Day 10% off, free S&H, and free upgrade to adjustable gas block - posted a few days ago on Gundeals.com. I could not pass up this offer at $200.70 delivered. (I had to purchase a $3.99 Accu-wedge to keep it over $200 for free shipping). They sent an order confirmation 1 day ago but no tracking number yet.
Anyone have any experience with these guys and their products?
UPDATE: the 7.5" 300 blk upper was delivered in reasonable time. It was shipped in a 3" tube. Looks great!
I am very disappointed the UPPER RECEIVER FITS EXTREMELY LOOSE. (I have many ARs and I don't expect these to fit tight). I tried it in three Andersons and two Spikes lowers with the same result..
I sent them an email and I got an immediate response along with a shipping label to return the item. So far, I am still a customer. To be continued....
They sent me a brand new upper in record time! Looks great and fits great - tight on the lower! Next, to range to test the function. Still happy!!
Update Won't run subs. This upper would not run subsonic ammo for me - with or without a suppressor. I sent it back to them, at my cost. They told me that the BCG was the problem and shipped it back.
I then tried it on two different lowers. I also tried 5 different BCGs including a Spikes BCG and three different buffers/springs. Half the time it would function perfectly. The other half was not good no matter which setup. The brass would not eject or the bolt would not cycle the next round. Sometimes the round was difficult to chamber like the head spacing was too tight.
I contacted Ghost Firearms for the third time and they insisted that there was nothing wrong with this upper. I requested a full refund and they agreed. This cost me two return shipping charges.
I'd try a different weight buffer spring.
10-4 on that. Running a Nemo 300 BLK buffer spring. Getting BHO on even slow 950fps subs! It's very light spring and I had a couple rds failed to lock into battery with "suppressor muck" in the action after 100+ rounds.
Not excited about accuracy in the 6.5" barrel at subsonic speeds. But then, it is truly a pistol length barrel.
Bear Creek barrel runs subs just fine. Update 1/6/18 - Built an identical upper, same lower, BCG, and ammo. Runs fine.
I have three Bear Creek's and they are flawless for me.
