Federal AE223BK 223 ammo review offers the following information: Federal AE223BK .223 ammunition is a product from the American Eagle line of ammunition. American Eagle ammunition is marketed as precision practice ammunition, and though it is inexpensive, it offers an uncanny accuracy on par with the more expensive brands. Like all Federal ammunition, Federal AE223BK .223 ammunition is manufactured at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant (LCAAP) in Independence, Missouri, which is an interesting aspect of the ammunition in itself. LCAAP is a government-owned, contractor-operated munitions facility that was originally established in 1941 for the manufacture and testing of small arms ammunition for the United States Army. Since 2001, it has been operated by Alliant Techsystems and is the largest manufacturer of small arms ammunition for the U.S. Army

Oh & I think this is a better buy from LG: http://www.luckygunner.com/5-56-45-55-gr-fmj-xm193-federal-stripper-clips-450-rounds#rid=gun.deals... - It’s XM193 5.56 on stripper clips - 450 rounds for $160
But this Wolf Gold is the best deal: $0.33 - $0.34/rd for .223 that has been reviewed to be loaded to 5.56/M193 velocities with annealed cases with sealed primers & necks - Cheapest shipping at $16 (for me), but $339/1000 - http://www.sgammo.com/product/wolf-performance-ammunition/1000-round-case-223-rem-55-grain-fmj-brass-case-non-magnetic-wol...
or - $20 shipping at $329/1000 - http://www.the-armory.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/product1887.html#1887...

Hope this helps some people find the best deal possible!

Shipping to Elk grove, Ca. is ~$27 bringing it to almost $0.38 per round. I would wait at this point because prices are coming down steadily.
On a side note, you can also add this to the blackhawk tact. rifle bag ( http://www.luckygunner.com/weapon-modular-case-black-blackhawk-74sg04bk... ) to help with shipping. The bag is not bad at all ended up costing me $20 per bag when it was ~$15 per bag. Wish I had waited would have saved me almost $30.....

Too bad it's from lucky gunner. Before I get my head bit off, let me say this: My BA is in finance with a minor in economics, and I am a PM for a bank; therefore, I feel I have a pretty firm understanding of business and supply and demand. However, the prices LG felt necessary to sell their product at during the "great gun scare of 2012-2014" was not only obscene, but an outright slap in the face to its, otherwise, loyal customers. I will never do business with them again.

I understand how you feel. I even wrote them questioning their prices during the thick of it... Their reply was simply that since they were paying more, we were too. I wish I would've kept that email.

None of it really matters though, in the end it all comes down to the demand, or what some propaganda fed moron with more money than sense is willing to pay for it. Sensible business says that when fools stand round corners to pay $50 for a brick of .22lr, you take full advantage of the dumb bastards stupidity and charge them $80. Everybody's happy. And that's EXACTLY what happened.

Lucky Gunner and just about every other major guns/ammo retailer reaped record profits. Busting guts, laughing hysterically to the bank as scared misinformed puppets ripped their wallets out with American pride to buy up the VERY LAST EVER produced ammo before the collapse. LOL. Don't forget the closing of the lead smelter.

So really, is there a better business to be in???
