I bought one of these last month, and it was absolutely the dullest blade of any kind that I have ever received. I'm going to have to spend an hour to sharpen it and get it where it needs to be before I can take it in the woods.

Good company that stands behind their gear.

Last year I had a problem with a gasket on one of their larger bladed swords. Cold Steel sent the replacement gasket really quick.

I've purchased a couple of these and have been very pleased, they are exceptionally tough mid-length machetes. They certainly can take a ton of abuse (I had not seen the knifetest.com review before but that is pretty accurate IMHO) it's certainly the toughest little machete I've ever had the pleasure of owning. It's length is perfect to strap to the side of a three-day+ backpack. The sheath/scabbard is well made and durable as well.

I liked these so much that when it came time to help make the BOB bags for my two brothers I made sure to include these.

The only negative thing I can say about any of them is one of them had a section of the factory edge where the grind on either side did not quite meet the other- but a quick trip to the local sharpener did the trick.

There are few outdoor tools on the cheaper price side that I would trust my life with, but this one of them. I wish I could find the kopis blade version as well.

I just ordered this the other day after watching the torture test in the site below. Amazing what this knife was put through and even more amazing how it endured. Hey, for $18 I couldn't resist!!

You can skip to the last video to see the end results.

UPDATE: I got this today and be warned....It comes dull!! I mean can't cut butter dull. But most of them come this way. It took a lot of work to put an edge on this, but it was worth it. I like having my handle end razor sharp and the other end, just barely sharp enough to cut paper.

So far it is as adveritised, nice firm non slip, comfortable grip. It is well weighted for chopping. The sheath is about to be expected for an $18 knife, but better than most. I would and might buy this again!!
