Better deal at Granite Ridge Outfitters with free shipping.
This is a nice product, one of the lightest mounts out there. Not a big fan of non quick release mounts, but you can't have your cake and eat it to when it comes to weight savings. My scoped AR was just to heavy, so this solved that issue.
It does come with a neat allen wrench with a paddle on one end that is convenient, but I modified mine, I simply added two thumb bolts manufactured similar to Eotech's thumb bolts.
Aero should offer something like this as a optional product, I would have bought a set, they only add marginal amount of weight to this ultralight mount.
Now my Aero lightweight mount is removable by hand which is a huge plus. I just don't like relying on allen bolts that need a tool to remove the mount.
But even without this modification, this is a solid product as is most Aero Precision products
For non-QD mounts, I keep a small L-shaped wrench in the grip of my rifle. Wrap it in a piece of barrel cleaning cloth to prevent rattle.
Stascom, Interestingly enough, the allen wrench that Aero provides has a unique polymer paddle on one end of the tool to keep it from rattling.
It's just the right size for tubes on B5 or VLtor type stocks or inside the rifle grip compartment.
I was on a feral pig hunt with my 6.8 and I got tired of schlepping a rifle heavier than it needs to be, I needed to shed some weight on that rifle. I didn't want any tools, batteries or what-not adding to the already heavy rifle. This mount helped me shed some fat.
