ruger cheaped out on the base materials and made a cheap nonmilspec rifle that's bottom of the barrel.
FN made a clone of what they sell to the US government and built it to the same standard. That said, 1400 is extremely high for a bone stock general issue carbine.
Why is the Ruger better? Not starting an argument, just curious. I actually own the AR556.
I totally agree, its a way way better deal/rifle

Plus the Ruger 556 is back in stock for $557 + $5 shipping on SG site
550ish seems to be the sweet spot for a "deal" on this rifle.. 640 isnt even in the ballpark.
