The Ruger LCP is about as small and light weight as you can make a semiautomatic pistol and have it function at all. This gun is called a "lightweight compact pistol" and that's exactly what it does! You know in "Men in Black" when Will Smith has to shoot the "Noisy Cricket" or whatever? This gun is kind of like that. Maybe what happens down range isn't quite the same - but the impulse in the hand is pretty similar - this thing kicks like a mule! When I first got this gun I didn't know how to shoot well - I had a hard time hitting accurately beyond about 10 feet - and even inside 10 feet I was getting bad low and left hits - I tried zeroing the laser to compensate for it. The truth is that this long heavy double action only trigger is not easy to pull - if you cannot lock your wrist then it isn't much more than a belly gun.
Once I learned how to shoot I was amazed that I could make hits at 25 yards with it - but the trigger on such a light little gun is no joke - your fundamentals have to be amazing. The crimson trace is a nice touch because the sights that come on the gun aren't very big.
If you want a gun you can carry in your pocket comfortably all the time - this is it. You won't be like John Wick with this thing but it's far far better than a sharp stick and can go where bigger guns can't!
