We incorporate multiple magnets into each of our units. This was done to remedy the problem of having slide releases, safeties or general indentations or extrusions of your firearm from cutting down severely on surface contact. It also served to keep the firearm square to the unit. With only one magnet the gun could spin as if it were a wheel. 2. We used a special polymer. This speaks for itself, but to reiterate the idea we continue. It prevents marring on your expensive firearm while being durable enough to offer a 100% guarantee 3. We spread the magnets in a lineal fashion to change the fulcrum point. With one magnet the barrel could be pressed to the mounting surface easily creating an unsafe condition by limiting contact. By spreading out the magnets the leverage effect of the barrel is dramatically reduced by creating a contact point far away from the fulcrum. This also prevents spinning that can occur with a single magnet. 4. Lastly we fixed the price. At this price you can actually afford to have these mounted in every place that you believe it should be. They also make great gifts for your gun buddies.

Can anyone say if these are powerful enough to stick to a safe wall through the carpet material they're lined with?

Are these strong enough to hold an AR15 to the wall if the magnet is mounted properly to the wall stud? I'm intrigued.

Livinitup, It most likely will if the AR's are static, I know that some people use two of this type to hold long guns, if vertical it should hold no problem with just one, if horizontal, probably two would be needed, however there is another model that has the magnets spaced apart a bit that would probably more easily hold an AR. I have two AR's held by n50 rubber coated magnets, but they are 2.5 x 2.5x .25" They are very strong, (suspended horizontally)

If you wait a couple days and revisit this thread, I ordered this item as well as the one linked to below, the one I'm referring to that has more spacing. eCop is in my home state, so I should have them tomorrow. (I wanted to take them apart to see what both type of magnets are in them. But before I disassemble them, I'll see if both can hold an AR to the wall with just one.

Alum receiver on ar15. Maybe it attracts to BCG. Hmmm. I guess you could go to barrel but that's round so not the best attach.

nc, You hit that nail right on the head my friend. The AR's I suspend horizontally are affixed via the magnets to the barrel and the BCG. Despite the barrel being round, it's a lot of iron and if vertical with this magnet, it would hold fast with just this one, if static.

As mentioned, on my horizontal AR magnet mount, its a 2.5"x2.5"x1/4" N50 rubber coated magnet. I have tried the plastic covered magnets, but they slid off a little to easy for my liking, but some may like that better.

Magnets are great. I have these https://www.kjmagnetics.com/proddetail.asp?prod=BX8C6DCSPC-BLK... which are similar strength, also have holes for mounting to non-magnetic materials, and with a plastic coating. Cheaper before shipping, but shipping is around $15 so it is only cheaper if you are buying a dozen or more.

Indeed, PTFE or Teflon coated magnets are a good choice as well if you need a magnet with less resistance than a rubber coated one, or a traditional nickel or uncoated magnets..

In my shop, nearly every tool I own is on metal pegboards with hundreds of rubber coated magnets holding tiny tools to tools that weigh 25Lbs or more. Fluke multimeters sell a magnet accessory that was almost $50, I thought that was ridiculous so I copied their design. Now that multimeters hangs on a LED shop light, taking up no bench space.

Going to compare the pricing of that site to Supermagnetmans offerings, the owner is a teacher and a really nice guy. His shipping rates are reasonable.

Appreciated you posting that link to kjmagnetics, the more places to find quality magnets the better my friend.

I love supermagnets, I have a couple ultra powerful n52 magnets; 4"x2.5" thick x 6" long that if they were a foot away from the other, they could come together so fast they would crush anything that's in their way, including your hands or your head, whatever it is, they will crush and smash bones to bits in a millisecond, once they come together the only way to separate them is with plastic or wooden shims and brute force. I keep them in separate wooden containers, far away from one another and each is in a homemade Faraday container.

They're neat but they're also extremely dangerous. I take more precautions with these than I do with any firearm I own. I keep meaning to sell them as they have no real purpose, but I cant bring myself to sell them. I used to have a display stand for them that showcased ferrofluid under UV light, but the field is so strong it affected some electronics. So they stay in deep storage and rarely see the light of day.

PS, Another option over these are going to Supermagnetman and just buying his rubber coated supermagnets, or even buying his n50 or n52 tapered ring magnets, dip them in liquid rubber and make your own custom gun magnets.

My Secureit fast box has a magnetic array to store a long gun magnetized to the top of the box, magazines on magnetic arrays on the sides, and allows my armor to sit flat in the safe, as that's how armor needs to sit.

Bottom line is, magnets are awesome. This product is pretty neat, but making your own is neat as well :)

Saw a video last year of a guy who loaded n52 magnets into shotgun shells and shot them at an iron door. I didn't need to see the end of the video to know the outcome, but that was pretty clever and fun to watch.

Funny thing is this should have been the deal posted, not something that requires $35 for free shipping.
